Contrast that to how Obama handled $3.50 per gallon gas.

I credit Trump but I also want us to become independent. To hell with the camel jockeys. Lets develop our own energy. Nothing off the table either. Nuclear, wind, solar, fracking, coal, helium 3, etc....

Those that we want to respect us or at least believe us when our President says something....do. Yes I'm talking about the bad guys. Yes this crazy f'ing President has the ear to all of them and they are beginning to get the picture. Hey this crazy bastard means what he says.
So not only do we have a President that's not afraid to get on Twitter and call people out. Hell, not only call them out but dog the **** out of them. All the time letting them know...it could get worse, for them. Not only do we have a President that will sit down and eat with a person that is truly evil. That truly evil ******* understands this President isn't just talking to be talking. If he says I will blow you off the map....
Well, just might have the balls to do just that
So while our friends "dont respect us" mainly because now we have a President that wont just let them walk over us and take our money....
they damn well know this President means what he says and then goes about doing it. And in the end, they will end up asking, do you want me on my knees or just bending. It will come at some point in the next 2 years. Because in their hearts they know they need Americas money and support more than we need them.
So maybe this works, maybe it doesn't and you can call it what you what.....
respect or not, the world leaders are starting to realize American now has a President that is looking out for America, first. Of course, to those people that haven;t seen that, its crazy.

This, but I think the issue isn't necessarily that we don't produce enough, but that if they can sell it to Russia or China or wherever for more, we can't force suppliers to take less from here.
To me I think we need to focus on a different profile. I think we produce enough to weather a possible war (wither real or economic) and/or have enough in the strategic reserve, but we don't have refining capacity. I think we need to encourage production and alternatives... and rethink our attitude towards refining.
