"As a member of the LGBTQ community, Justice Kennedy being replaced threatens my rights."

To what rights is he referring? He enjoys and will continue to enjoy the same exact rights we are all afforded by our bill of rights. It's right there in the constitution for all to see, effing baffoon.

You think the right was sitting back being sweet between 2008 and 2016? There was drama. There were people threatening to move out of the country. Everything was a "get guns while you still can" moment. Even gay marriage.

Cool, calm, and collected was not a thing back for you guys back then.

I just want some explanation of that line of thinking. Where were all the idiots organizing civil disobedience events during Obama's terms? Where are all the radical righties shouting down their opposition and denying speakers their platforms during the last 8 year run up to DJT becoming POTUS? Where were the crazed gunmen shooting up congressional extracurricular activities? Where were the congress persons demanding their constituents make fools of themselves by jeering and protesting cabinet members in their own homes and out in public?

Show me the links to actual events like those above and maybe I'll concede the point. There is no there there and the comment of "Same **** Different Party" is complete BS.

I'd bet you could search the Google all day and not come up with more than a handful of links to events such as you're describing, meanwhile those same type events are now occurring almost daily and coming exclusively from your unhinged fellow liberals. If you can't differentiate between the sheer volume of these events during both POTUSes terms then you are either being willfully ignorant, pushing an agenda or just plain stupid. I don't think you're stupid by any measure.

Here's the difference:

Small child wants candy but is told no - he frowns but goes on with life = Republican

Small child wants candy but is told no - proceeds to meltdown and throw himself on the supermarket aisle floor and have a fit = Democrat

............why is it this way - too many little ones have been given the candy after throwing the fit............................

Uhhhhhhh, no.

It was more of a try to muddle through and do the best you could to make it through the most failed administration in modern American history.

Now? Try to survive a pretty great economic expansion and time.

I really don’t give much of a schit about all the rest of the noise

I think there is a wide gap between being angels and what the left is doing now, and I think that the right in the Obama years fell somewhere in that gap. Not angels, but not the extreme we are seeing now.

Of course, this may just reflect buildup over time. I didn't think the republicans were as willing to work with Bill Clinton as they should have been. I thought democrats were much worse toward GWB, and republicans in turn were somewhat worse toward Obama, but the left response to Trump has ratcheted it up several notches. I don't recall restaurants throwing Obama staffers out, or republican congress critters calling for violence against Obama. Maybe I just have foggy memory, but I don't think so. Part of what restraint existed may have been the rapidity with which the left played the race card at any response other than subservient obedience.

A part of the trend that I find particularly alarming has been what I see as a shift from having policy differences to personal attacks. Heck, nobody discusses policies anymore, it's all claims that Trump is a despicable human being. I thought republicans erred in not talking more about policies with Clinton (the one time they put policies front and center they won their biggest election victory, probably ever). And their infatuation with Monica-gate may have propelled democrats to go more personal in attacking GWB. With Obama, republicans were limited in their personal attacks by the specter of racism allegations, but I felt that they wimped out when they should have been having policy discussions. Day one when they took the house back in 2011, I still think they should have passed Bismarck health care (the Heritage plan was tending in that direction if they wanted to go that way) and some version of Bowles-Simpson or Domenici-Rivlin or the best of both (they were pretty close on most things, so would not have been hard to do). But they lost their nerve to deal with big issues and just became even more democrats-lite than before. I don't think Mitch McConnell or John Boehner or Paul Ryan could lead a sex addict to a whorehouse.

Notice he also mentions muslims. I wonder if he'd be as worried about the rights of muslims as they prepared to toss him off an 8 story building?

I never watch pMSNBC, but last night I found it hard to turn it off of that train wreck of a network. Tingles, the little wormy guy (not Maddow, but the one with the glasses), then Maddow himself. All of them were terrified, but trying to act and talk tough. Idiots. Last night was a close 2nd to election night.

Here's how I see it. The way libs are behaving today is the way republicans of the Obama era behaved, but on steroids. The way republicans are behaving today is just like the dems of the Obama era, but on steroids.

If the democrats get major wins in the midterm, then the roles will reverse again, but on steroids.

Now to the point of my first statement: it was about the whining and nothing else.
