Interesting, it was reported last night he had hired a full staff of Clerks for the next term. If he does retire I would hope his replacement retains them.

This has been going on and off for a while.
Maybe he is tired of having to overrule lower courts ignoring the law and has decided we need another conservative justice.
Or maybe he just wants to retire.

No idea what Kennedy will do. I mean, he’s 82 in July so maybe he’s done. But these rumors come up every year. They are meaningless. And he can keep hiring clerks even after he’s retired. So that is meaningless, too, so far as whether he’s going to retire or not.

Cruz would be a great choice. Also, some dems Senators might be willing to vote for him just to get him out of congress. Cruz doesn't play well with the swamp. I would miss him being my Senator, but the SC is more important then a single seat in the Senate.
Although I don't think Texas has another Cruz right now, I'm sure we can find a solid replacement.

Sorry, I can't get behind a Supreme Court Justice who's gone on record saying that when he hears a case he doesn't pay attention to the law or Constitutional provisions.

That's not a good thing to have on a court, especially if you are a fan of applying the law regardless of outcome as opposed to manipulating it.
