Confirmed: Americans see media bias everywhere–And they’re angry - usmbacker - 06-24-2018 09:21 AM

The American people are not being fooled by the lies of the MSM.

Quote:Here, for a change, is a Friday bad-news dump for our country’s news media: Americans don’t believe you anymore. In fact, they’re pretty sure you knowingly publish inaccurate news, distort it and even make stuff up to suit your political bias and agenda.

And if you distribute the news on social media, they believe you even less.

These results from recent public surveys are not just bad news for the news business, struggling through a now-chronic financial crisis. They’re bad news for our form of democracy, which requires informed participation by voters relying on accurate news to cast their ballots. Misinformation can easily result in mistaken choices, or none at all.[..]

Now, come the Knight Foundation and Gallup Polls dissecting Americans’ thoughts about media. In general, Americans overall estimate that of the news they’re exposed to via radio, TV and print, nearly two-thirds of it is biased (62 percent).

They believe that nearly half the news they see is inaccurate (44 percent). And they’re sure that more than a third of the news moving through those media conduits is misinformation, that is, wrong or fake but distributed as if true.

They also believe that 64 percent of news carried by social media is inaccurate. And — maybe you’ve felt this way too — more than 80 percent of adult Americans report feeling angry or bothered by detecting such false reports. They believe that 65 percent of such news is misinformation and a whopping 80 percent is biased.

I do so hope they keep it up because I believe the more angry Americans get about the obvious bias in reporting against the president, the more likely they'll get out and actually vote.

Was just looking at a story on realclearpolitics about that douche fellow saying, "a vote for Trump is a vote to rip children out of their mother's arms". Again, please, keep it up. Say it every day.

Someone needs to investigate how and when the media became the enemy of the people.

Yeah stink, I was going to say you'd have to go back decades, to their glory days when the only sources for televised news were CBS, NBC, and ABC. They controlled it all.

Manipulation and control of media content is just one tactic.

Control of education is another. Begin propaganda as early in life as possible in the schools and you'll be able to manufacture voters supportive of your policies. And we see a rash of Millennials who think socialism is the way to go. Why, because they've been taught that every day of school throughout their lives.

w/o question....

population growth and wealth division are responsible for that.....

it's a numbers game, man......and a consequence of enjoying capitalism for some

CBS was nicknamed Communist Broadcasting System long before CNN even existed. Dan Rather was always a weasel. Nothing new, some were just too dumb to see it

I don't think it's nearly that simple. Any propaganda is being driven by the communities these public schools reside in and not the education system reformulating the political views of the communities. IMHO, the more concerted effort to adjust political viewpoints occurs on college campuses. Even there, I think it's more limited to the lower value degrees anyways. It's a lot easier to politicize courses linked to the various "_________ Studies" majors, communications and sociology/psychology. IMHO, it's much harder to politicize STEM programs. It can surely be done, but I think it is pretty hard to politicize actual science and math topics. There is no politics in an eigenvector or a laplace transform.

it absolutely is that simple at a macro level......

you don't build rome in a day.....in this case it would be the dissolve how education is administered.....

there are plenty of threads that go into the 'whys' in detail....

it takes time for rat infestation to mature....

if one doesn't understand developing another form of slavery via a different form of distribution, then they're just not paying attention.....

Yeah, Ol' Danny is a proud ex-Marine. I wonder how this weasel is perceived by other Marines? Same thing goes for Sam Donaldson, an alumnus of UTEP. I'm only proud that he graduated from my school but very sad in his stances.

The Atlanta paper dropped their conservative columnist. They kept their TDS liberal and their education columnist who throws in leftist politics every chance she gets.

Their sports page today had a front page editorial supporting the kneelers.

“Rather never made it out of recruit training. He couldn’t do the physical activity,” Burkett declared. The exposer of many a wannabe and phony hero, says Rather was discharged as “medically unfit” on May 11, 1954

Its really pretty logical. People who gravitate to the journalism field tend to be the types that want to "change the world". They are typically very young and liberal. You end up with a liberal echo chamber within the network newsroom. Before long---you have networks filled with folks who are trying to change the world by any means necessary. In their liberal echo chamber of friends and co-workers---everyone agrees they are doing the right thing and that their view is really the only logical reasonable view one could possible hold. If your surrounded by extremist---being extreme seems normal.

For many, they first saw it when that POS Walter Cronkite helped the NVA. Of course, LBJ had a lot to do with that too. (FWIW, IMO at least, 'Nam wouldn't have been the debacle it was if JFK not been murdered.)

However, for me, it was on election night 1988. I was 12 years old and Bush the old man (I don't say that as an insult, BTW) won against that little **** weasel Dukakis. Peter Jennings let out a big sigh and said, "It appears George Bush is indeed going to be the President of the United States".

He looked ready to cry. And I laughed at this little man.
