Alliance of American Football vs New XFL - Fighting Muskie - 06-16-2018 01:17 PM

I'm just curious what the general interest in these two leagues is and if anyone has a preference of one over the other? I for one am happy to see football in months that are normally devoid of my favorite sport and I think it'll be a great opportunity for guys to prove that they can play on the big stage.

I think the XFL needs to start announcing some cities because the AAF has beat them to a bunch of markets that would be receptive to their pro-anthem, anti-criminal family friendly image and brand.

Thruthfully, I just want to see spring football succeed and that if these groups merge that gives them the best chance at survival.

I don't have a preference for one-or-the-other right now. I really think that the NFL should work on creating a minor league, more-so than anything.

I think the Alliance wants to be the NFL's minor league and I think their hope is they can sell it to the NFL for a hefty profit or hang on to it and have the value of their investment multiply based on an official relationship with the NFL.

Remember when Dennis Erickson returned to Idaho? Heck even Mike Riley just returned to Oregon State for round III only to leave before the season.

They definitely brought in some guys with some name recognition. I hope they can get some decent players too. I imagine late this summer when NFL teams start cutting guys from training camp the AAF rosters will start to take shape. It'll also be interesting to see if some late round college players will leave campus early to take roster spots on AAF teams in hopes of improving their draft stock.
