While I don't agree with the kid and wish he'd shut up, I do not like this Swatting thing.
Frankly, I hope they catch the person/people responsible and make an example of them.
People have died as a result of Swatting.
It's a false report.
It's tying up public resources.
It's sending a group of heavily armed, highly trained police officers to a location with the assumption that they're responding to a potentially violent situation.
Anybody who does this is worthless.

OK, NOW I know why the mods took it so seriously when I mentioned how a few people over on the AAC board threatened to find out who I was and "cold **** me one" after the Cincinnati BB game a few months ago. (You know the one).
(FWIW, I "called" the game with about 11 minutes left - which was EXACTLY when Nevada started their big come back. I caught hell on the American board. There were more than a few melt downs - which led to more than a few fans telling me they wanted to find out where I lived, who I was, etc... since those same fans correlated the Bearcat collapse with my "call". Still got about 3 or 4 over there that hate my guts. Even a few UCF fans hate my guts too for whatever reason.)

It is. It's also pretty easy to find people's information. Phone hacking is an old game and pretty hard to track.

Unfortunately it’s very hard to do. Not a lot of cases have been able to be prosecuted.

I agree it’s not easy. It might be impossible. But law enforcement should make this a priority, IMHO. Whoever did this, and for whatever reason or motive or intent, needs to be made a very harsh example for others.

Except it may well have come from India, Bangor, or Shanghai. I've had people soliciting me from all those and more.
They KNOW WHERE WE LIVE! Not to mention the throw away phones you can get on the eBay these days for .99 centavos.
