FBI making us proud again - TechRocks - 06-03-2018 08:49 AM

You won't believe this one.

Quote:Off-duty FBI agent allegedly shot a man accidentally after gun falls on dance floor in Denver bar.

An off-duty FBI agent allegedly accidentally shot a man in the leg early Saturday after the agent’s gun fell from his holster on the dance floor of Mile High Spirits, according to a Denver police news release.

“The victim was transported to the hospital with a good prognosis,” the news release read.

The name of the agent wasn’t released because he hasn’t been charged, said Marika Putnam, a Denver police spokeswoman.

Video of the incident obtained by Denver7 shows a man alleged to be the FBI agent dancing while surrounded by onlookers and then executing a backflip. During the flip, the gun appears to fly out of the man’s holster. The man in the video jumps to pick up the firearm and appears to fire the gun in the process. The man puts the gun back away in the back of his pants and holds up his hands as onlookers appear shocked and scared.

“When the agent retrieved his handgun, an unintended discharge occurred,” the release read.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have a CCW permit yet, but I didn't think you could carry into an establishment that serves alcohol.

FBI, the laws don't apply to them. And apparently he thought the laws of physics didn't either. Dumass.

Addendum to gun safety in the FBI handbook:
Never do backflips while carrying in your belt. Also, remember gun safety 101. Never place your finger on the trigger until you are ready to discharge your weapon.
Maybe the NRA needs to train these knuckleheads.

We need more people carrying guns... not less.

We need less people driving cars, drinking alcohol, playing softball, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, eating to much, not getting enough exercise, cutting towards their fingers, diving into shallow water, etc, etc, and voting progressive democrat.

The FBI isn't sending their best.

Without knowing Colorado's laws here in SC law enforcement can carry anywhere on or off duty as long as they have their credentials because they have a duty to act if they witness a crime.

Ah. That makes sense.

“When the agent retrieved his handgun, an unintended discharge occurred,”

Just so people know this means he pulled the trigger. A gun does not go off by falling on the floor.

Or the trigger pulled itself. Or space aliens invaded. Or a zombie apocalypse.

Most likely, he pulled the trigger.

I thought it was that the police were ok to carry guns because they are trained professionals amiright?

Anyone else notice the gun didn't go off when it hit the floor, it went off when he put his hand to it (grabbed it and hit the trigger?)

You don’t “hit” the trigger. You actually have to pull it.

I wonder about alcohol here. It is possible this guy was buzzed.

The only crime I saw was the lead up to the back flip.

You don’t “hit” the trigger. You actually have to pull it.

And have the safety off. Couldn't tell the make of the pistol. If it was a glock, then doubly stupid on his part for grabbing the trigger.

This is true. FBI, and other law enforcement agencies, are allowed to carry off - duty. In a sense they're never really off duty.
