Crew Owners make stadium proposal in Austin - AllTideUp - 06-02-2018 12:14 PM If I had to bet, I would say the Crew is moving to Austin. And I think that was part of the reasoning for Cincinnati getting the latest bid. If the Crew move then I wonder if USL goes to Columbus and tries to take advantage of that market and stadium. RE: Crew Owners make stadium proposal in Austin - Phlipper33 - 08-17-2018 03:46 PM Domino effect of this is that it could pave the way for a baseball stadium in San Antonio https://ballparkdigest.com/2018/08/16/will-austin-mls-move-clear-way-for-new-missions-ballpark/ The AA San Antonio team is moving after this year, and being replaced with a AAA franchise. That team will play in the current AA stadium but is wanting a better stadium as it is rather old. San Antonio was wanting a MLS team, but with it appearing Austin is getting one, it becomes much less likely for San Antonio. San Antonio now much more likely to spend money on a baseball stadium. I'm still wondering if San Antonio will build a new AAA baseball stadium, or try to land an MLB expansion team and then build a baseball stadium. Might as well give it a shot. I think Buffalo did that with their AAA park, they just never got the chance to actually move forward. Shame about the Crew. IIRC their current pitch was the first MLS-specific stadium to be built, but alas times change and their owner seems like a POS.
