pretty aggressive timeline,,,,could be done before the IPF

Wish the old warehouse mall on the river had better parking. It was a good idea before it's time. If they would have done it the way New Orleans did theirs on their river it would have been a great attraction.

The Carlisle Group has been all over the board on time, size and scope for years. When 2019 shows up the project will change again.... Don't hold your breath!!

I ain't holding my breath, but they are still spending money on the project.

I feel better about it than I do 100 North Main.

RE: One Beale shorter, but still not dead - cmt - 05-24-2018 03:28 PM

The Carlisle group is now run by the kids. Dad died a year or 2 ago in the middle of the Chisca project. I know one of the kids (adult, not quite as old as me) is still 100% about Memphis and investing in downtown. I heard one just wanted to take her share and run.

RE: One Beale shorter, but still not dead - Bathtub Gin - 05-24-2018 03:28 PM

I think 100 North Main has a better chance of happening than One Beale simply because it is tied to the convention center and the money will come from TIF zones.

One of the sons recently left the company to go work elsewhere.

It would be great if both actually happen. There seems to be some momentum coming back downtown.

I read today where another developer is looking to build a 6-story building near Loflin Yard.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new hotel in Central Station.

It's just a matter of time before Belz does something with the old bank building at Beale & Main.

Not to mention the St. Jude planned redevelopment around the Pinch.

Well, I guess that leaves one.

Word on the street...FedEx will be opening an office complex downtown in a landmark building.

This warehouse mall opened and closed in the 90s. Way before it's time

I’m scratching my head. Can’t think of one recently vacated.

100 N Main, the old UP building. In addition to renovating the current building into luxury condos, the developers have snatched up adjacent lots and plan to build 2 additional buildings for office space.

Fedex is gonna open an office in a development with shaky funding and is most likely 3 or 4 years away from being ready? Sounds odd.

I was just guessing. I’m not privy to word on the street like others around here.
