There still some final touches that need to be done to the end zone facility, but this is essentially the finished product from a bird's eye view. Plus I thought it would be nice to share the fall colors. App State is easily in the argument for prettiest college football setting this side of the Mississippi.

App State Stadium looks nice.

Looks like a good road trip

SDSU's new stadium project is up and running. Bowl has been dug and leveled and foundation pouring is scheduled to start soon.

Stadium is scheduled to open for the 2022 season with a home game against Arizona.

So the SDSU stadium is not on the existing SDCCU stadium footprint?

Correct. Immediately northwest of Sdccu stadium.

Aloha Stadium is shutting down ASAP. Hawaii will need to find an alternate location for '21 and '22. They expect to open a new 30-35K stadium in '23.

Army and Air Force will be playing the next two years at Globe Life Field, the Rangers new stadium. They asked TCU but we said no thanks. The stadium is air conditioned but football in a baseball stadium is not my favorite plus the stadium only holds a little over 40,000.

45 years is a short shelf life for a non-professional stadium.

A lot of history there for the Rainbow Warriors. It was also the longtime home of the Pro Bowl.

Only FBS or pro stadium in the tropics. I am sure that affected deterioration.

Maybe they use War Memorial in Wailuku?

This sucks. I planned to go to the final game at Qualcomm, but that got shut down without notice. So now I’ve been waiting to see the final game at Aloha, and this happens. A stadium with that history and meaning to Hawai’i locals deserves the proper sendoff.

I think Rust has been an issue. This falls on the government leaders there...never should have come to this.

35K feels about right for a new facility... plenty of P5 schools will still want to visit

Central Oklahoma's Football Stadium Expansion

New Central Oklahoma Facilities

So, the plan was to expand the seating by 12,000 in the 2005 diagram. I think they only got to add like 2000 to be at 10,000. That leaves another 10,000 seats to go at least. They recently renovated the stadium the last few years and facilities for all their sports including new locker rooms. They are even lightyears ahead of some schools in the Southland.

That and the stadium was built for multi use but not as a donut. Large portions of the stadium shifted into different configurations. Didn't work well as the stadium fell apart. Having a single configuration should work better.

04-cheers They don't need to shift to baseball. It was built to accommodate a Triple A baseball team.
Fascinating read on the stadium. If a PCL team ever comes back to Honolulu they should just build a 6-8K seat stadium.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha_Stadium

If they rebuild, they better allow 24" per person on seating...Hawaiians are not small people.

Aloha Stadium closing.

Hawaii will do an upgrade at their small stadium on campus and plan to play games there for the next several season.
