It is bigger than a 22k stadium but we are giving everyone so much leg room and back supports that we could only fit 22k. If we had the same spacing or only a slight increase is legroom then we could probably have a few more thousand fans. Also this is just Phase 1. More phases are currently being worked out.

It can feel like a big time stadium without a lot of seats.

Hawaii will get a new stadium.

Going down to 35,000 seats with the new one.

Guess the NFL let them know they weren't bringing the Pro Bowl back there?

Maybe.

Its worth noting that all the programs which moved into a P5 conference (TCU, Louisville, Utah) had at least 40,000 seats. TCU's AD was quoted when they dropped capacity from 48,000 to 40,000 that there is something magical about that 40k number.

To me I've felt that 35,000 capacity is a neither here nor there number. It doesnt satisfy P5 specs nor is it easy to keep a tight demand with like a 20k seater.

For you construction junkies...the crane in Syracuse will be massive. A main boom length of over 500' and a hoist height of over 725'

Put a few more undulations on it and it could be a world class roller coaster.

More video showing the impact of the crane being built.

I heard Ephesus Lighting https://ephesuslighting.com/ got the contract for the LED lighting.

Most stadium projects either use them or Musco Lighting http://www.musco.com/

Temple must have buried their OCS. Nothing about it in over 6 months. Not even any protester news. Maybe the protesters and local politicians won. Or maybe there just wasn't enough green to grease the palms of those that were holding the stadium construction up. Staying at the LINC probably ended up being cheaper than the local political ransom and graft to build the OCS. 03-shhhh 07-coffee3

You would think that if it's on campus on their land, they could figure it out.

Quote:TCU’s $100 million east-side expansion of Amon G. Carter Stadium won’t be complete until the start of the 2020 season, TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati informed expansion donors in an email. He later announced it on social media.

“Earlier this afternoon we notified our stadium expansion donors of some unfortunate news - that we would not be able to access the new club and suites this season,” Donati wrote. “While very disappointing, we wouldn’t be able to deliver a game day experience that our donors deserved.

“We have spent the last few weeks looking at every option to access the space but ultimately we believed our donors deserved better. We are committed to delivering a world class experience for them! Thank you to all our supporters for your patience and understanding.”

Donati and the expansion committee reached the decision to delay unveiling the project until next season after meeting with Turner Construction officials earlier this month. Donati had expressed optimism last spring that the project would be ready for the Texas game on Oct. 26.

But the majority of construction projects in the DFW area have been delayed substantially after historic rainfall last fall and winter, and TCU finds itself in that predicament.

TCU does not want to rush the project and force opening it too soon. Donati said the game day experience would be “severely limited” if they went down that route such as elevators not being serviceable and temporary food and alcohol service.

The expansion project delay affects about 2,000 fans.
