The goal this year is to 1. Win CUSA and 2. Go to a bowl. Winning CUSA is a very long shot this season and to get to a bowl we have to win at least 6 games. We will be hard pressed to win 6 this season as it is, swapping LU for a P5 would make that highly unlikely. I'm perfectly fine with LU on the schedule, an in-state, drivable game where the fan bases are familiar with each other and the competition should be good. It should build interest in the state and generate some publicity where we recruit students. Getting beat by Alabama on the road in the first week and then having a 4 or 5 win season is not a better option than playing LU in my opinion.

I could not agree more. We are going to be pressed to win six games (although I’m hoping for more). The Liberty game is critical to getting to six wins/bowl - and they are certainly not a cupcake. Also, opening against a P5 on the road would be a huge mistake. It’s a near guaranteed loss and a massive hit to the confidence of the players. Having them potentially be cannon fodder makes no sense.

I understand anything can happen on any given Saturday but from the game tape i watched of Liberty didn't give me a feeling that they are very good or even good for that matter. I watched their games with Baylor, highlights of kennesaw and then St Francis. That liberty fan claiming that their QB Buckshot is NFL talent is way off. I am not an NFL recruiter or one of those analysts that pick apart talent but from what i have seen he has got good arm and that's it. He doesn't have good wheels and can't escape pressure but when he is the pocket he can make some throws. They seem to have a decent WR Gandy Golden or what ever that kids name is and those are dime a dozen at FBS level. Their OL is awful just like ours early last season. Defense is okay i guess but FBS offenses will get through them and ofcourse this is all last season so it has little to no bearing on how they play this season but to claim that QB and WR are NFL talent is just wrong. There are plenty of QB's with good arm warming up NFL benches and that WR will not be drafted unless he improves drastically this season.

You saying our defense is decent and our Oline is awful shows you know absolutely nothing about our team. Our defense couldn’t stop a grandmother from running last year. This post is proving my point. Actually look into things before making public comments lol!

So you are saying I am clueless because i called an awful defense a decent one is it any worse than your claims of NFL talent at QB and WR and that should tell you how clueless you are at judging talent and Football.Scram turd you have no point to begin with.

Yes I am saying you are clueless. If you want me to specify on my original comment I will. AGG was ranked as the 48th best receiver for this coming year. Draft experts, not you and I, believe he will have the opportunity to leave after this year and get drafted. I don’t think he would do that but it shows that he has the talent to give your secondary issues. Buckshot has the arm talent to go in the draft his senior year. He is only going to be a junior and is going to set pretty much every LU record. We have had a qb drafted in the past so that says something. As far as him being a runner that’s not what he is. He is a pocket passer. Buckshot is questionable as far as being drafted but you can count on him getting a shot if he goes undrafted. So to sum this up AGG will more than likely be drafted after his senior year probably in the 5-7th round range. Buckshot will probably either go 7th or ufa. Are they first rounders? No, but they are talented enough to give y’all issues. ODU should win this game on paper. Will y’all win is the question. I don’t think so just because this is more important to us than y’all. LU in a close game.

Also, in both 2017 & 2018 only 33 WRs were selected so I'm sure what that does for #48

Fair assessment but he is also a junior. I doubt he would go this year because it would be too risky. If he leaves early there is a good chance he goes undrafted. Next year he would be able to get up to maybe the 5th round but that’s optimistic.

If these are your references then you have lost any and all credibility. We have had WR’s better than that while we were FCS.

Fair assessment but he is also a junior. I doubt he would go this year because it would be too risky. If he leaves early there is a good chance he goes undrafted. Next year he would be able to get up to maybe the 5th round but that’s optimistic.

Too risky? WTF does that even mean? He won't go this year because he wouldn't even get a chance to change the toilet paper in most NFL organizations. For the most part, getting drafted in the 5th-7th rounds is on par with being an undrafted free agent when it comes to training camp. 03-banghead

Looks like fans can register as Guest so doesn’t need to be an Alum to attend from what i see in that registration form. Someone from ODAF might be able to confirm

Your references are to a fantasy football blog. Dude. I could write the same thing about all of ODU's players. Open your eyes and check your sources... or does Liberty teach you to blindly follow whatever source you can find online that matches your opinion?
