31st pick in round 7.

Very happy for Logan.

Great place for Logan. Good luck to him

Just watched the replay of his name being called on nfl.com and the announcers are idiots. Talked more about JT Barrett than Woodside, and their only complement of Logan is that he is a "scrappy runner" ... umm yeah. Ridiculous.

I rest my case about NFL Scouts being a joke. Good for Logan. I hope he tears it up in The NFL.
GO LOGAN GO BENGALS AND GO ROCKETS

Glad to see him get drafted!

Classy move by Cincy to give a “local” guy a shot. If he can make the team, his family has a short trip to support him.

Well after being on air for days I get how they might be a little ill prepared but it would be nice to show him some love

Do it on the field. They have a need

Watched it on ESPN and they showed a lot of love and compared him to Case Keenum. Kiper said he thought he would have gone earlier and would be in the league for a "few years"

Had to be tough sitting there watching it tick down and not being called. Glad it happened for him. He's an excellent QB.

I forget which channel it was on because I was out and watching it at a brewery with the sound off, but either ESPN or NFL Network did a breakdown of Logan shortly after he was drafted. They showed clips of him film room style doing things that NFL QBs need to do to be successful. It showed examples of him effectively doing a WR progression, throwing checkdowns properly, and using the whole pocket. It was only about 2 or 3 minutes or so, but it was a good little feature.

He and his agent probably had this conversation already, but he probably wanted to go UFA instead of being drafted that late. Awesome moment for him for sure (especially going close to home!) but from a business perspective, 7th rounders cost more than UFAs, so he's going to have to prove it more. Good thing is the Bengals seem to be souring on Dalton and they just lost their backup to Buffalo. As of right now, there are only three guys at QB on the roster (Dalton, Matt Barkley, and Woodside) though they'll probably bring another in for competition.

Looks to be a good fit and opportunity for him, and given his pre-draft assessment as likely 6/7 rd pick, he fell where you would expect. UDFA may have given him a very options to look for roster where he could grab a spot, but appears CIN is one of those anyways. As is often said, does not matter where you are drafted, you have a shot like everyone else, your chance to take an advantage of it. And my impression of Woodside is that he will take up the task well and not miss out on this opportunity to make a NFL roster. Best wishes and good luck to him!

Bengals also signed Quinton Flowers as a free agent, so there are 4 QBs in camp vying for the chance to back up Dalton. The other two being career backup Matt Barkley and last year's rookie Jeff Driskel who spent most of last season on IR with a thumb injury. Seems like Woodside has as good a chance as any of those to impress and find a spot on the roster.
