Encouraged Eldon Miller to join him at Northern Iowa after he too was fired by OSU.

Actually Eldon was fired at OSU first (by a year). He called Earle to see if he knew of any "up and comers" who might be interested in the UNI football job and was told, "Yeah -- ME!!"
Bruce had coached six years at Iowa State before returning to C-bus so he knew the territory.
