My tune on this issue has changed over the last couple of years. Diminishing attendance has become a major problem, so anything that may help is welcomed. But, I hope any school that goes this route is prepared for liability claims and there should be seating areas that are designated for drinking.

Is attendance dwindling? I wasn't aware.
Is then the reason for such that alcohol isnt being served or are there other root issues?

Yes, attendance has been declining five straight years.

Yes, there are other root issues, mainly TV dictating start times, and so many games are now broadcast that many prefer to sit home and watch without the travel, parking, etc.
As far as I know, every MAC school has a massive student disappearing act after halftime, and late arriving students before the game. Most of that is the desire to continue drinking. Selling beer inside the stadium, at reasonable cost, may get some of them to show up early and stay later. Just my opinion.

NIU has been selling beer inside the stadium during the game, and outside prior to kick off, for the last two years. Is beer not available to Waldo?

Dunn was adamant that WMU would never sell alcohol at games. KB wouldn't even approach him about it, even though several wanted to. Not sure how the new Pres thinks about it.
I would love to see it. I'm not worried about students drinking at games. How many could afford an $8 beer anyway? I would love to showcase Kalamazoo area beers, though.
