He'll definitely get some reps this year in meaningful regular season games. Cam is going to get himself hurt scrambling for yards.

And the fact that the Panthers have a very suspect OL, I don't expect Cam to make it through the year unscathed. The QB2 on this team will most likely be QB1 periodically. Which gives TH another advantage over Gilbert in that he is much more mobile.

I expressed my concern elsewhere, but will say it again. I love TH, but have reservations about his durability. He's already suffered a mild concussion and hurt his shoulder diving for a touchdown the year before.

Of course that's the game of FB. I am sure he knows what he signed up for. 200 to 300 pound bodies colliding and breaking parts of the body at times. He might have strengthened himself but anyone is vulnerable in that game esp the ones with weaker frame.

Panthers have 1 preseason game left, Thursday at the Steelers.
Don't most teams sit their starters for the final preseason game? I'm not sure myself.
If they do sit the starters- Thursday will be the biggest game of his career.

I will be there. Most likely he will start and play first quarter. Gilbert the second. They will let the rookie Kyle Allen play the second half. I will let you know if that changes.

From what I have seen in the preseason, I think TH is the better #2. The only thing I think could keep him from getting that spot is durability. TH does look a little frail out there, and gets hit hard a lot. If there is a real concern about that, I would think it raises questions, because if you are already down to your 2nd qb, do you really want a guy that might not be able to stay healthy until your starter gets back? I hope I am wrong, because I think, given a shot, TH is good enough to start for somebody.
