I'm very much going to sign up for this pronto.

April 12th and my life will be forever changed. j/k.

Boxing package on there looks pretty good. Recall of old matches longer than 30 days Im finding an issue on Comcast aside from a few classic Tyson and Ali fights.

To compete with Hulu what I see Comcast doing is offering a double play with starter cable and either HBO or Showtime included around the $55 dollar price point. Hulu live TV is 40 plus an HBO add on is $55.

Then for the sports just go to ESPN+ app for 5 dollars a month instead of paying another $30 dollars on the cable package for ESPN.

Hope it includes the entire libraries of 30-for-30, SportsCentury, and the programs they made for ESPN Classic back in the day.

Previous articles said that those would be included.

I would be willing to bet the MLB game will be the MLB.TV free game of the day

I would also be willing to bet the NHL game will be the current NHL game of the day on the yahoo sports app.

I am very curious to see if ESPN 3 gets shutdown or if they share with ESPN+.

I would love to know what ESPN has to provide on ESPN 3 in order to meet contractual obligations with internet providers.

Found this old yahoo and wired article

Sounds like ESPN+ will be doing a lot of what the old yahoo sports streaming deal provided sweetened with collegiate, international, and Grand Slam tennis ESPN3 content plus some boxing and an on demand library.

Sounds like ESPN+ will have enough content to make it a fairly appealing product. Im betting "free" ESPN-3 is going to eventually go away.

Probably will once they complete their deal with the cable providers that were signed on for the content.

Yeh, all that is worth $5 for me.

Just being able to watch App in the four sports I care about plus the conference championships is worth the $5. MLS/NHL/MLB/Boxing tips it way into positive territory.

All the ESPN3 content was removed last month from the ESPN app on DirecTV. The games on ESPN3 used to be there, but now, it will just tell you what's on the other channels you subscribe to.

ESPN3 is going away after 4/11. The only things that will remain are ACC and SEC spring sports content.

Yes, I'm sure they still have time left on carriage agreements with ISPs that they have to honor, when it gets down to the last few they will probably buy the deals out and shutter E3

I'm the same with GS content

Turner and Bleacher Report and launching a similar service with the NBA as the main product along with UEFA Soccer

Well I can skip that one thankfully. NBA is the only pro sport where my favorite team is in-market.

So pretty much most of the MAC and Sunbelt games are heading there also.

Non linear stuff.

Seems like that would require yet another renegotiation of the MAC contract since their deal calls for a ton of their content to be on ESPN-3 (which unlike ESPN-Plus, is free for most anyone with a cable subscription that includes ESPN). The current MAC deal also requires significant investment on the MAC's part to produce content specifically for ESPN-3. Unilaterally moving the MAC content to a paid subscription service seems to me to be a big enough change to trigger renegotiation.

Depends on the contract. I'll wager that it only specifies that ESPN owns the digital distribution rights and doesn't specify how they are to be distributed by ESPN.

Capital investment to get up to ESPNs standards was completed by 2016 for every MAC school.
