Nine who will not fail
I don't say this because he's one of our guys but I think he's one of the safest bets in the draft. High character, elite defender, quality shooter. He's going to play 10 years as a 5th starter or quality 6-7 man off the bench.

I cannot stress enough what an elite defender Jake was. UC has had a ton of great wing defenders in my time as a Bearcat fan but Jake was the best of them. I think Imac may have been a little better one on one, on the ball, but Evans is right there with him. What made Evans just another level from everyone else is combining elite on the ball wing defense, with exceptional help defense. He could help and recover with the best of them and made so many exceptional help defense blocks/deflections. Truly a joy to watch on that end of the floor.

I'm still hoping this is all a mistake and I'm going to be watching Evans drop 25 on O$U in the first game next year.

Hoping for the best between Evans, Gary, and Kyle tonight. Any thoughts on if Gary still has a shot to be a late 2nd rounder?

RE: Evans... - SeniorBearcat - 06-21-2018 01:58 PM

The Bearcats have a realistic chance of having two players drafted tonight (Givony and Woo both have Clark now going in late 50s) 03-cloud9

I would love for Evans to land with any of SA, IND, BOS, GS, PHI or DET trading up (my favorite team with a need for SG).

I think Clark would fit nicely with any of UTAH, SA, IND, MIN or LAL (not a Lakers fan but they will be VERY active in F.A. and Clark could land on a new Superteam).

Tonight is a success if...
1. Evans goes 18-28 to a winning franchise AND Clark is drafted by a contender.
2. Evans falls to beginning of second round but still gets a 2-3 year deal from a contender (like RealDeal's Jordan Bell example where the Warriors gave 2.1M Guaranteed with a team option yr. 3) AND Clark is drafted.

Tonight is a failure if...
Evans falls to the 40s to a crap franchise and Clark goes undrafted.

ESPN's mock draft with Jonathan Givony at 8am had Gary Clark going #57 to the OKC Thunder, Givony's updated ESPN draft at 2:18 today (Editor's note: This mock draft will continue to update with the latest information and analysis) today now has Clark going #47 to the LA Lakers.

I've never really understood the NBA draft. There is far more action than any other league...but it's almost so ridiculous it kills the fan experience. The number of trades that happen...the number of players that change teams in those trades...the number of foreign players that are drafted that may never actually play for the team that picks them, but that's OK because it helps with salary caps...

When Evans' name is called, and if Clark's name gets called...in both cases, can anyone really be sure those will still be the teams involved by 8 AM tomorrow?

The contracts in the NBA make action on draft night much more prevalent. You'd see more of these contract dump trades if the NFL did the right thing and made contracts fully guaranteed like every other league.

I'm thinking Evans doesn't make it past Golden State if he drops that far in the first and Clark gets drafted in the last 10 picks.

7 PM tonight we get the answers. Saw at hair stylist Enquirer today no XU player is projected. Did not Trevon school us year after year?
