Zia Cooke question - rocketpaul - 03-17-2018 04:22 PM

First I doubt she will play for UT though I hope Cullop at least offered her a scholarship. I have a Question about her.

Does anyone know if she is related to the former Libbey great from the 60's Joe Cooke who I believe played an Minnesota and I know played for the Cleveland Cavs in their inaugural Season.

Found this: Talks a lot about her family. I would think he would have been mentioned if she was related, but can’t be sure.

Been a long time since a Toledo basketball team got past second. Congrats to the Rams for a great showing against one of Ohio's perenial powers.

Was a fun game to watch. Gilmore Academy had no answer for Cooke. She did it all out there.

Chances next year for Ms. Basketball are unfortunately slim. She's in the same class as a two time winner from Canton McKinley.

Here's a fun article from ESPNW on Cooke.

Might not have a shot at Cooke (I've heard from many she's all but set for OSU), but Madison Royal-Davis seems like a good option...if they can get past her father...

Isn't she only a freshmen? I was thinking about #35 she's listed at 6'2" and a junior.

Maddi Royal Davis is a freshman, averaged 15 ppg and is around 6' Zia's the junior...not sure on number, but she's only 5'8"-5'9".

Ki'aysia Peace's (currently at UM) younger sister is a junior on that team, but nowhere near as talented as the other two.

I think Cooke is Aaron Bivens’ niece. He needs to get her on board.
