Cleveland Browns?

RE: Rashaan Melvin - RedandBlackAttack - 03-12-2018 08:49 AM

He's in line for a nice pay day. Good for him.

RE: Rashaan Melvin - niu_1087 - 03-13-2018 09:00 AM

Really, really happy for Rashaan. I'll be rooting him on regardless of where he ends up.

RE: Rashaan Melvin - BDB5yp - 03-13-2018 09:26 AM

He’s earning it big time. His work ethic is fantastic! Under the radar all his life....

RE: Rashaan Melvin - NIUfilmmaker - 03-13-2018 09:54 AM

Bears would be a fun.

RE: Rashaan Melvin - RedandBlackAttack - 03-13-2018 01:43 PM

So Melvin is definitely NIU's best current NFL players. How do you think he stacks up against others from the past? The only ones I can think of are Michael Turner, Ryan Diem, and Doug Free.

Unfortunately for Jimmie Ward, who I thought was going to be a beast in the NFL, I think Melvin has become a much more successful player in the pro ranks.

Golladay has a chance if he can stay healthy. Ward was still playing a lot for 49ers last year wasn't he?

I can see Ward having a big season next year now that the 49rs have added Richard Sherman. Ward has played all over that secondary for them.

Golladay will most likely be their number 1 Receiver next season barring injury.

I always felt Melvin should have gotten drafted. A 6 foot 2 corner who ran a 4.3 something at his pro-day.

RE: Rashaan Melvin - flair6 - 03-13-2018 07:42 PM

Michael Turner will be NIU's best NFL performer for many years to come. He came in 2nd in the MVP voting in 2008 behind Peyton Manning. He was an absolute beast for a few years.

Melvin getting interest from both Green Bay and Oakland.

Jimmy Ward is getting good year 5 payday.

Jimmy can still have some very good years if he can stay healthy.

Melvin is a pretty perfect fit for GB...I know many here would probably not like to see that.

That's great news. There was chatter that he would not be resigned. Jimmie getting paid.

Happy for Jimmy, great player. Hope he's a friend to the Huskie football program after his NFL retirement.

Good for him. I hope it's all guaranteed. Let's hope he is in the giving mood to NIU for the nutrition center.

I'm sure he'll be donating all of it to HAF as some would have it on this board.

Congrats Rashaan!
