On CBS Sports Network @ 6:00 for those who have access and can't attend in person.

Don’t think I have ever less enjoyed watching a KSU basketball team in over 40 years. I’ve seen plenty of teams that didn’t have much talent but they did play together and they played smart. Not this one…

RE: BGSU vs KSU - axeme - 02-24-2018 07:21 PM

Both of these teams are really awful. This is just bad basketball.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - fallsdog - 02-24-2018 07:26 PM

Yeah man. This is bad. From a basketball perspective.....really bad.

I would like ke to remind everyone that the HS district tournaments start next week. In some cases, teams share the rock and defend and take pride in the fact that it’s a team game!

RE: BGSU vs KSU - Old School Flash - 02-24-2018 08:07 PM

Very fortunate to win that. Avery‘s last drive to the hole sure looked like a no call to me. Great clutch free-throw shooting by Avery though

RE: BGSU vs KSU - axeme - 02-24-2018 08:40 PM

A game both teams deserved to lose.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - anti-zip - 02-24-2018 08:52 PM

The positive, we played hard and our defense looked much better. The offense and rebounding left a lot to be desired though. Walker did a good job of not forcing it tonight. De La Rosa did not.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - anti-zip - 02-24-2018 09:18 PM

The 10 blocks (6 by Pippen) were big tonight. I think it's been a while since we had that many blocks. The 22 offensive rebounds BG got needs to be addressed though. I think playing Pippen and Duling together is tough. They both go for blocks and Duling isn't a great rebounder yet which really opens up the offensive boards for the opponent.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - burden - 02-24-2018 09:26 PM

We didn’t play particularly well but we sure know how to win the close games. Also for the most part the home schedule has been very entertaining.

Bad basketball. I sure hope the new additions next year include at least a couple players that can be "difference makers".

Looked like two teams that just want their seasons to be over - 20% from behind the arc at home03-zzz

I disagree. BG played hard. Pippen, ADLR & Avery and Walker (at times) played their butts off.

I agree with you. I didn’t see a lack of hustle. Both teams were sloppy at times and our rebounding was terrible but was somewhat made up for with all the blocks. It was bad basketball but not listless basketball.

Maybe Im off base a bit - maybe it's tired legs at this point in the season - I see the shooting % were just as bad in the Akron-MU game.

It’s bad to me. Please don’t confuse playing hard with being good… take this stat for example…Against BG DLR had 5 turnovers and only had nine shot attempts. On the season he has a whopping 96 TO’s with 213 shot attenpts. When he touches the ball he generally is looking to shoot. That means about a third of the time he commits a turn over before he even gets a shot up. Not picking on DLR as he has improved greatly this season. Just using this statistic to point out some of this team problems. They are certainly not pretty to watch play and are not what most would consider a sound basketball team.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - Muskrat - 02-25-2018 05:23 PM

Good point, Old School Flash. That is why I said above that some incoming players better make a difference. Who among those already signed for next year have the best chance of really making a difference?

You're forgetting about free throws and assists. He has 31 possessions ended with an assist and an estimated 60.3 possessions ended with free throws (127 total free throws). So he's used roughly 399.3 possessions so 24% of the time he turns it over. Still not ideal. If you assume every assist is a two pointer we're scoring 1.02 points per possession he uses which isn't terrible. Still wish Avery was doing more. We're averaging more points per possession used by Avery than anyone else... and it's not even close.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - fallsdog - 02-25-2018 06:04 PM

anti. Those are interesting statistics. In my humble opinion Avery and Of The Pink are good ball players. Perhaps the best KSU has.

RE: BGSU vs KSU - GFlash68 - 02-25-2018 09:23 PM

Avery has been my favorite player for 2 years now. He does more to play his position the proper way than anyone else on the team. Give me 5 Averys and I am ready for war.
