WBB Game 26: North Texas 11-10, 5-7 vs ODU, Senor Day - Aviewfromthestands2 - 02-21-2018 11:37 PM

This Thursday the ODU women's basketball team will play the final home game of the season against the North Texas Mean Green. Ealier this season we lost 63-46 on the road. Now ODU is riding a five game winning streak at home. This is a perfect way to see how much ODU has improved since Jan 11th.

Mean Green's overal record: 11-10 (5-7) RPI Rank: 216 SOS Rank: 265.

At seventh place, ODU might be as high as they can get in the standings. Yes mathematically it is possible to advance. However with the other two teams ahead of ODU each having a two wins over ODU...they would basically need to lose all their remaining games. And as you can tell, a lot of teams are right behind us. So this game is still important.

The my friends was a very tough loss. We had 'em, and let it get away.

IMHO, when we have more depth, that won't happen. I believe coach would have started pressing and trapping when NT made they're run. I suspect they may have gotten tired, especially after Edwards fouled out at the end of the 3rd, and then AJ shortly there after.

All and all, after being up big, it was a crushing defeat, but they will learn from it. Thank you to our seniors. Loved watching you guys grow, on and off the court.

This was a tough game to watch. While ODU didn’t get any help from the whistle happy referees (NTU shot 23 foul shots to ODU’s 14), still it was painful to watch the team go to what appeared to be a full slow-down game in the 4th quarter. They were in deep foul trouble, but taking the foot off the gas didn’t seem like the right decision to make. Who knows, better depth might have made for a different outcome.

I really believe that had Edwards and AJ not fouled out would have been a different outcome. Next year will be a totally different story.

Question:
Why doesn't Dejah Carter play more? She played very well when she was in the game.
