Donald Trump's Support Among Blacks Has Doubled Since 2016 - SuperFlyBCat - 02-03-2018 04:07 PM

Two new polls show President Donald Trump’s rising support among black voters, highlighting his political gains from pushing employers to hire Americans instead of lower-wage migrants.

The growing support from blacks — despite furious Democratic claims of racism — could become a shocking political validation in November when Trump will face millions of upper-income Democratic voters who are angry at his “Buy American, Hire American” policies.

The poll was “a cumulative analysis of 605,172 interviews SurveyMonkey conducted with Americans in 2017,” according to the Atlantic.

Those are historically great numbers for a republican.

These folks are certainly excited to hear the news.

Polling blacks with survey monkey? Sounds racist to me.

Wow, doubled. That's incredible.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that President Trump enjoys (at the least, a tepid amount of) support among practically everyone outside of the rabid, alt-left fringe on twitter (because they are the loudest), and the fake news media because they are bought and paid for, and they don't actually do any real journalism, they just read twitter all day -- garbage in, garbage out.

Trump's real approval rating is probably in the 70's.

Oh joy, his approval rating is now 17 percent among blacks, double that of the 8 percent from 2016. It's still half of what Bush had in 2003.

I'm still waiting for someone to comment on the fact that the historically low black unemployment rate from December lasted all of one month. It shot up almost 1 percent in January from 6.8 to 7.7 percent.

Can you post a link to your assertion that blacks supported Bush at 34%?

Roper Center has blacks voting for Bush at a 9% clip in 2000 and a 11% clip in 2004.

Gallup poll. He had 32 percent, not 34. I guess I should have said almost half.

Bush's numbers went down over time. Here's another Gallup poll that shows his support among blacks at 37 percent in 2001, 41 percent in 2002, 32 in 2003, but just 16 in 2004 and 2005.

Those numbers actually surprise me because I seemed to recall that he never drew more than about 10 or 12% to the polls, which was why I looked.

I think it's probably a pretty safe assumption to make that while blacks may approve a certain pub's job performance at any given time, getting that to translate to numbers in the voting booth is a horse of a different color.

As it relates to Trump, if he can complete his campaign promise of making a difference for the average worker in the rust belt, that's to say, bringing meaningful manufacturing jobs back to that sector, then he's got a real chance to break out of a dreadful cycle for pub candidates. That should scare the living hell out of donks who have long depended on that great blue wall.

That reminds me of a point Peter Zeihan made. Polls showed Hispanics 8 to 1 against Trump. On Election Day, it was more like 4 to 1. Why? because pollsters never asked the question, "Are you a citizen registered to vote?"

Fast & loose with the truth, per usual.

I’m pretty sure Zeihan said 2 to 1. Your point still stands he had even greater support. The swing voters were Catholics. I remember that too.

I can without a doubt tell you that the black men I worked with would NEVER vote for a woman...no way..no how. Ive heard them say so...many times. My guess...many of them just stayed home.

I know every single increase seems to needled TDS sufferers but the fact of the matter is if he keeps up like this he will get close to where Bush was in 2003. And he will do that despite the media and left screeching hitler.

So It was to Obama's credit that it was a record, are we blaming Trump that it's now up 0.something percent?

Trump's support among black men may inch up a bit more if the economy continues to do well. But I'm sorry, I just don't see him making any progress on getting the support of black women.

RE: Donald Trump's Support Among Blacks Has Doubled Since 2016 - Marc Mensa - 02-03-2018 06:34 PM

He’s jumped from a total of 9 black voters to 18.

This is pretty true. It's been funny watching the democrats try to shame black men and white women to "be more like black women"...

He does not need to hit "bush like numbers" to make a big difference. If he doubles his performance with Black males, and increases a bit in hispanic males then he is very likely to win a second term.

Why would black women not be inclined to support President Trump?

Are you saying only 20 African Americans votes last time?

Cause Trump got about 8 percent of the AA vote in 2016. And that was of 16.4 million African Americans. Math might not be your strong suit but thats 1.13 million African American votes for trump. If that goes up 50% it would be huge in the next election.

But yea that charming attitude of "the one black republican" really served you well in 2016, keep it up.
