Hopefully if it's against UConn.

Still too soon?

Yeah, the low scoreboard was one of the first things I noticed and thought about in terms of ramifications. Obviously it could harm the 3/4 court buzzer beater heaves, but it could also hamper the long inbound passes as well (see UC over Duke). Oh well, I guess it's a small price to pay and nothing we can't live with or adapt to...

I wonder if the BB arena notches naming for indoor soccer will be for sale.

Very, very impressive! I can't wait to see it in person.

RE: New 5/3 Arena update - bearcatfan - 10-29-2018 08:16 PM

I got tickets for one game - Western Michigan. I'll get tickets for another one if it works out but I need to go to at least one game.

RE: New 5/3 Arena update - UCinNKY - 10-30-2018 12:02 PM

I've been browsing tickets, was looking to take my stepdad to the wisc-milwaukee game, but the only tickets I see are on vivid seats and stub hub, for like 65$ not including fees. I would rather sit lower level, and I understand that comes with a premium, but yeesh- seems a touch high for a November game against a weak opponent.

Couple new Pictures from today, *based on Tom Groeschen tweet On the retired player murals, they will have player name and Number lighted up in front of the mural on the black mesh

Affordable, lower level tix on the secondary markets have always been a tough get for those of us that don't have connections. At least in my experience.

A fair amount of upper level seat backs for $30 still thru UC

That's what I did for the NKU game. If better seats show up closer to gameday at a reasonable cost, I shouldn't have too much trouble selling the ones I bought.

2 Kind of OT questions with follow-ups I should probably already know but am actually unclear and curious about:

1. Should we all simply be calling this 5th/3rd arena or 5th/3rd or the "Five Three" (03-2thumbsup) all the time or do certain parts have different names (e.g. Jucker Court) or 5/3 arena (in Shoemaker Center) tied to donations or whatever that should be referred to?

2. Along those lines, and I don't mean this to sound accusatory: Is there any part of this still considered the Shoemaker center or is anything Shoemaker (e.g. referring to "The Shoe") 100% completely outdated with regard to this facility? And did we meet their expectations in terms of sponsorship or did they kind of get the shaft?

Glad to have the construction over with. Should make getting into Nippert much easier now.

RE: New 5/3 Arena update - BearcatMan - 10-30-2018 07:44 PM

Looks great...it may just be me, but the seats seem pretty far off from the court IMO. Lots of space between fans and the floor.

Absolutely beautiful! The students are blessed to have such a magnificent facility on campus. One of the best in college basketball.

For those wanting to see 5/3rd Arena. It was announced by Dan Hoard on the radio football show tonight that the public will be welcome to see the arena starting at Noon on Saturday before the home Navy football game. The women's team will be scrimmaging and it is free to the public.

It'll also make it easier to get into 5/3 as well.
