New UAB Commit - WesternBlazer - 01-29-2018 04:02 PM

Steve Irvine‏ @SteveIrvine04

Big recruiting pickup today for UAB. Blazers get commitment from 6-foot-8, 310-pound offensive tackle Henry Yoboue of ASA College in Brooklyn. Has three years left to play.

Blazers247 @Blazers_247
...Henry Yoboue: I know that UAB had everything that I wanted in a school and a program. I really like the coaches. It’s a done deal.
...Henry Yoboue said it was "the whole package" that swayed him to UAB. He mentioned coaches, facilities, academics and city.

He very well could, likes basketball.

Think Tyron Smith is who he plays like, can get to the second level quickly.

He's only been playing since he was a junior in HS and Arizona St had made an offer. He spent his youth playing basketball and soccer. He could be a steal

Yes indeed -- he might be as good a "steal" as the player who as a junior was playing in his school's band. We came out pretty good with that guy.

Obvious we won't know if he's ready to contribute until he gets here, but the frame just screams put me at left tackle. With the height he can probably go to 340 with a great weight room commitment. May turn into a true motor grader. Mr. Brown, meet your new best friend

RE: New UAB Commit - biglizard - 01-30-2018 11:01 AM

He's pretty easy to spot on the videos that's for sure. He'll need to work on his hip and pad levels and get in the conditioning program but geez he's big

RE: New UAB Commit - BlazerPhil - 01-30-2018 11:53 AM

Wow, In the videos he's just unstoppable at the level he played against.

I think you'd have to consider moving him the DE in the 3-4. Mr. Yoboue would demand a double team every play.

Love those Brooklyn Players out of NY, You should see Troy, NY they got some Players as well. Normally they go to Michigan got some studs They normally go to Stony Brook or Michigan, if you can pick up a couple they like the air down their. They Damn shore ain't going to Sryacuse they recruit GA and Fl and Mass. Think UAB has more NY players then the Cuse.

It's hard to judge from that hudl video, because he's a foot taller than damn near everyone he lines up against.

That is a *large* human being. Looks like a LT to me, but he'd be a stud DL if he has the foot speed.

RE: New UAB Commit - BlazrDawg - 02-07-2018 04:18 PM

Well, did we get him today or not??

RE: New UAB Commit - BlazerMatt - 02-07-2018 04:28 PM

He decommitted Monday and was expected to sign with Youngstown St.
