FWIW - DICK - 01-28-2018 11:38 PM

Buffalo is first in the MAC in RPI in both men's and women's hoops. Buffalo men #26 Buffalo women #25. Meanwhile, Akron is last in the MAC in RPI in both men's and women's hoops. Akron men #236 Akron women #219.

MAC women are 7th in RPI (even ahead of the American which has UConn). Buffalo is #25, Ball State is #32, CMU is #36. Surely this is the year that the women get multiple NCAA bids. Or do we still fall short somehow??

The usual: if UB wins out until the MACC game, then loses they seem like a lock for a bid. Except they lost to a MAC team which drops their rating below that needed to get a bid. The deck is stacked.

The women's team is far more deserving of an at large this year (assuming no major missteps throughout the rest of the season).

At the moment they're 16-3 overall record with a neutral site win over RPI # 47, road wins over RPI # 32, 55, and 78, and home wins against RPI # 61 and 97.

The MAC is good enough this year in women's BB that there are enough potential quality wins still on the table. UB still faces CMU twice, Toledo once, and Ohio once. If they go 3-1 in those games and win the rest until the MAC tournament that would make them a 25 win team with a record of 9-2 against RPI top 100 teams. If they were in the AAC or Big East with a resume like that I don't think there'd be any question of an at large, but despite the fact that the MAC is right in between those two leagues in RPI (Big East # 6, MAC # 7, AAC # 8) we'll have to wait and see.

CMU-Buffalo should be epic.

UB Women got 6 votes in the AP poll... If they win out they might sniff the top 25

UB, CMU, and Ball State all received votes in the USA Today Women's poll.
