Don't bet on it.

UConn is still a 'name' team...hopefully we can get a crowd to show up and Memphis can get our fourth straight win. Go Tigers!!!

I recognize that quote and stand by it, but do what you want. It's just gonna make it worse. Again, i respect what everyone is saying, but the point has been made.

I'm seeing the program at such a low point. It's been like this for several seasons, and honestly, i can just respect the hard work by the players to get a road win and wanted to comment on a good game. Hope that is still ok on the tigers board.

As opposed to teams from the recent past this team seems to be drastically improving as the season goes on. They are really fun to watch and each player seems to be achieving their potential. Those tight games against the Mercer’s and Loyals of the world seem too be paying off as far as gutting out wins. I’m excited to see how this season plays out.

Isn't the entire OP just a negative post? Basically the OP is being negative and predictiing negative actions.

Funny how some people don't get just how negative they really are and want to pretend like it is everyone else.

"recent past"? You must not remember this time last year when we were rushing towards 17 wins and everyone was talking about how much we were improving over the course of the season, then we hit the Tub 10, and as always, things fell apart.

Last year is pretty recent. Enjoy the team's current success we're having and stop being a baby

What are you even talking about, so you agree last year is the recent past then call me a baby... So does that make you a baby to? Stop being a baby.

Temple is now 8-9 on season and only 1-5 in conference...and the Eagles were playing

Well here is my .02 cents worth. I love these players. They are working their butts off to be a good team. They probably feel that they only have their team mates to bond with to praise the good and suffer the bad experiences. I am sure some of them read this board and get a little disgusted with some of the post. They certainly do not hit the hardwood with expectations of losing and they give it their all to succeed for the team, themselves, the city, their parents, their coach, etc. They can only play the type of ball that the coach wants them to play. If it is run and gun or half court it is not their decision. I would hate to get the bruises, cut lips, elbows to the face, sprained ankles, back problems, etc. and not have most fans appreciate what I was going through to try an attain a winning, decent season for everyone that follows the program. Why does everyone feel so righteous to comment on what the team or coach should have done while using hindsight for their 20/20 vision of the situation? We as fans should support these players win or lose and let them know we are behind them and we have their back against all obstacles they face. To paraphrase a line from a different sport " Let's root, root, root, for the TIGER team and if they don't win it's a shame but let's all go out to the ole basketball game!!!!!! Show these kids that we really appreciate what they do regardless of the circumstances they face.
OK I am getting off my soapbox now. I am not trying to TELL anybody what to do, I am only suggesting to look at the situation through the players point of view and you can form your own opinion on what you want to do. Hopefully you will embrace them individually and as a team. THEY ARE OUR TIGERS !!!!!!!!!!!

No one can argue against your points. Fans lack hope because the problem is that the majority of these players are JUCOs who only have next year. There is nothing coming to supplement next year and come 2019 the roster will have to be made over all again.

Most Tiger fans would have hope if we were watching Tubby play with Freshmen and Sophomores. We would understand the "growing pains" and building for the future. Problem is, the majority of the roster only have 1-2 years of eligibility, not 3.

Thanks for the positive comments. I am particularly grateful for Jeremiah Martin. This young man has stuck with the program and put his heart in it despite extreme negativism and difficult circumstances for a proud program and tradition. For me, he will always hold a very special place among the greatest Tigers of all time.

Really all it did was reveal you as stirring the pot and trying to prove that you are the better fan, IMO.

RE: "maybe this will squash the negativity for a moment" - cmt - 01-14-2018 10:19 AM

We love the Tigers or we wouldn't be here.

The players are working their butts off and playing well together and winning a few, maybe even putting together a winning season.

However, that's not the point. We aren't paying Tubby to put together a scrappy little team that finishes 16-15. We didn't build a state-of-the-art practice facility to not ever get invited to any post season tournament.

We love these players and yesterday's game was great, but this coach is not doing his job and no matter how hard Jamario Rivers plays, that doesn't change anything.

I am just a fan who has followed the Tigers since 1959. I believe that criticism can be constructive and destructive. If you doubt that the posts that come from some who use this board are intended to harm our sports programs; then IMO, you must live on another planet.

Crowds are down at many places. Saw on TV the Alabama/South Carolina game and the crowd was very small. Looked like Memphis game.
