CBS Bracketology - 1/12/2018 - freshtop - 01-13-2018 01:54 PM

Has WKU in as an at-large (in an 11 seed play-in game vs. UCF) and MTSU in as the auto-bid as a 12 seed.

I'd say the chances of that happening are slim, but it is nice to see at least one projection that has C-USA being a multi-bid league.

At least at large is a possibility this year.

Just need 2 or 3 more programs to get their **** together and we will be an okay conference.

One thing that makes no sense is wkcc getting a higher seed. MT played a tougher non conf schedule as a whole and won more games in the non conference so that plus winning the league means a worse seed. Doesn't add up.

Meh, the 11 seeds are the 'play-in' games for the last 4 in. I'd certainly take the 12 seed auto-bid over an 11 seed 'play-in'. Seeding isn't an exact science, sometime you just fit where there is a spot in the general range of where you should be.

Either way, this would be GREAT for the conference if it played out this way!

Good point. But not all of the 11s are playin are they?

Nah, 4 teams play for 2 of the 11 seed spots while 2 other 11 seeds do not play in the 'First 4' games.

That sentence seems confusing... haha

Win over Purdue is going to carry a lot of weight if they keep winning, WKU is their last loss

Per realtimerpi.com as of 01.13 WKU has a higher SOS than midtnstate in addition to the win over a Top 10 ranked Purdue as mentioned above.

MTSU doesn't have the wins to get an at-large (IMO). WKU beat a very good Purdue team on a neutral court. The SMU win isn't looking as good as I thought it would, but that's still a top 50 KenPom team.

If WKU goes 16-2 or better in conference play (possible), then stumbles in the conference tournament, they will at least get a look for an at-large.
