Multiple Officers Shot, Suspect At Large, Bomb Squad, SWAT on scene - usmbacker - 12-31-2017 11:50 AM
Happening in Douglas County, Colorado...
Pre-planned ambush? An officer directing traffic in Los Angeles was ambushed last night.
Quote:A so far undisclosed number of Sheriff’s deputies were shot Sunday morning and a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team is at the scene, a home near the 3400 block of County Line Road, according to Lauren Lekander, DCSO spokeswoman.
“We have multiple officers down,” said Deputy Jason Blanchard of the incident at Copper Canyon Apartments in Highlands Ranch. “We are not giving numbers or status at this point, we are still working on getting the suspect in custody.”
Residents have been told to stay inside and stay away from windows and walls.
Three of the injured were taken to Skyridge Medical Center in Thornton with non-critical injuries, said Linda Watson, a hospital spokeswoman. She couldn’t say if the injured were officers.
Deputies were responding to a disturbance call when shots were fired from the home near Colorado Boulevard shortly before 6 a.m., Lekander said.
Denver 7 reported hearing shots fired as a reporter arrived at the scene.
“We have SWAT out there setting up and preparing to go in right now,” Lekander said at about 7:15 a.m.

Saw they arrested a guy in Houston, drunk, who had a room on the top floor of one of the downtown hotels, Hyatt I believe it was. AK-47, shotgun, and other arms and ammunition in his room.

The Hyatt Regency. They had an event planned for New Years Eve but we aren't talking about nearly the amount of people around that you're going to see in NYC tonight. Plus it will be cold tonight so that might limit the number of people around (it might also limit people in the Big Apple tonight too as it might be their coldest celebration on record).
I know NYC is really stepping up the security today but I'd be worried about a copycat shooter from Vegas tonight in NYC or in any city with large amounts of party-goers.

Apparently there was a gun show next door, as well as a 3-gun competition in town.
