Maybe but ECD had 4 new light poles to maneuver around vs. home side's 2 light poles.

Earlier today however, I saw that they are nearly done with the Westside. I feel like maybe the Westside was most difficult to demo for some reason

They started demolition a little lateran the west side because of other demo preparations that had to be made.

You said that right. Much more. Wife keeps asking me why I like watching the Demo. She just doesn't understand.

Wavy news is about to drop interviews about the negative impacts of construction. I would be jumping with joy if the stadium was built in walking distance of my home.

For 99% of people that stadium was around before they were. What type of person buys a house near a stadium then complains when they do work on it. Pathetic. 01-wingedeagle

They same kind that buy property next to a college and then are surprised when drunk kids wander the streets, there are noisy parties, bands play at the football games and people park in their neighborhood. Or the type that buy property next to a naval air station and then complain about jet noise. Or move next to a hog farm and then complain about the smell.

Neighbors in every college town want the good things, arenas, restaurants, lectures, increased property values, but they don’t want construction noise or those pesky college students.

Or builds a house in rural Suffolk and then complains about the farmer who moves his equipment up and down those country roads. Just like the family has done for 100 years.

Just WAVY trying to up viewership. ODU did not have to consult or get feedback from the nearby neighborhoods at all. Instead they went out of their way to bring them into the process, making it very inclusive. They have absolutely nothing to complain about.

RE: NEW stadium construction - Grommet - 11-26-2018 08:58 PM

She really needs to see your manager. Now.

RE: NEW stadium construction - Retroview1955 - 11-27-2018 03:53 AM

The people can complain all they want. Wavy 10 remained everyone that ODU is a state entity and has the right to run construction at night. It's only the VT alumni that are complaining because they know our team can expose their beloved team. With a better stadium, we are more competitive for Virginia recruits. Everyone should be happy ODU is bringing more value to the city! Cry a river, I'm sure the construction crews will use it to help minimize the dust!

By the way, anyone saying they weren't warned is lying and just not paying attention. They presented to the LECL last summer before they started driving the pilings.

Totally agree. Did this Ann Hupp lady just move into Larchmont last week? ODU has literally spent tons of time and gone above and beyond in communicating with the neighborhood, working with them and addressing concerns over the last couple of years. Thats the reason the stadium isn't on the water. She must be clueless and uninvolved in civic activities to just be finding out about this now.

RE: NEW stadium construction - jumpshooter - 11-27-2018 09:31 AM

1 person, 1 opinion = worthless. Sorry, Ann Hupp, try paying even a little attention.

RE: NEW stadium construction - MonGNARch - 11-27-2018 09:39 AM

I have a friend who lives in the Larchmont/Edgewater neighborhood and he got a Nextdoor email that goes out to the whole community of another person bringing up how they think it's strange to work after midnight and that "ODU could be a better neighbor and wrap it up around 9"
