RE: NEW stadium construction - ODUi - 10-31-2018 09:12 AM I was curious about ODU2k1's comment and googled the images. I don't know if this is what the administration is talking about, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Maybe seating to complete the lower bowl and the covered decking at the concourse level with the scoreboard over it? I think I like the Chicago Fire one the best. I could be over thinking this though... should just wait for the renderings. RE: NEW stadium construction - Can't Tame the Lion - 10-31-2018 09:30 AM If the final design includes removing the existing bleachers, constructing something similar to CSU's endzone "tailgate" area and closing in the corners with new seating to complete the bowl along with a new scoreboard above the endzone, then I'm totally on board with that as long as we can maintain at least 21K-23K seating capacity in this initial phase. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Canvas+Stadium/@40.5698925,-105.0884348,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipN8cCEP6bqMUDCz-ZCIcCIWGDmDSDHqUQc0-lFD!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipN8cCEP6bqMUDCz-ZCIcCIWGDmDSDHqUQc0-lFD%3Dw203-h152-k-no!7i3984!8i2988!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x87694a33ecd69ba9:0x45d252500a3e2f11!2sColorado+State+University!8m2!3d40.573436!4d-105.0865473!3m4!1s0x0:0x4a1478ef1d8ba9!8m2!3d40.5698925!4d-105.0884349# RE: NEW stadium construction - monarx - 10-31-2018 09:35 AM (10-31-2018 09:30 AM)Cant Tame the Lion Wrote: If the final design includes removing the existing bleachers, constructing something similar to CSU's endzone "tailgate" area and closing in the corners with new seating to complete the bowl along with a new scoreboard above the endzone, then I'm totally on board with that as long as we can maintain at least 21K-23K seating capacity in this initial phase. That sounds like the best case scenario to me as well. I would actually really like that plan, and other than not having more suites better/bigger locker room and a more attractive press box, the new stadium would wind up being pretty nice looking and what we need. I doubt all of that will be in Phase 1 RE: NEW stadium construction - monarx - 10-31-2018 12:25 PM Hard to believe CSU is a G5 school. Thats an incredible stadium. I know Wood mentioned the "best G5 stadium" at one point, but it appears we have a long way to go, even with our new stadium. They do have an awesome stadium, but they are not that good at football or basketball. I do think they are a Big 12 P5 expansion candidate but I think there are some other schools ahead of them. That being said, we have a long way to go facilities wise. 30k stadium at a minimum but 35k would be better. New indoor practice facility. New baseball stadium. The best thing we have is the Ted. Everything else is blah. RE: NEW stadium construction - MonGNARch - 10-31-2018 02:52 PM The only difference with FF vs all those other stadiums is that they have a closed bowl on the other end zone that gives it a more complete look. If we have a stage/SRO section in the north end zone the stadium will still look small/too wide open due to the game day building and the east and west stands not being connected. If there are stands on top of an open area (kind of like the beer garden) then that is different. But as someone mentioned on this thread already, we won't know until we get legitimate renderings, which I hope we get sometime soon. Again which is sad because we are 18 days from construction RE: NEW stadium construction - jumpshooter - 10-31-2018 03:36 PM If you believe Minium,, ODU is doing all it can to put as many things into the stadium as it can, right up to the last minute. I assume that's in concert with Ballard. That be the case, I'm OK with waiting to see what they finally come up with, and how different it might be from what we saw ages ago. HerdZoned is a poster on the main CUSA boards, sometimes ventures over here. Tends to write a lot of bs. It was a probably bad joke.
