RE: NEW stadium construction - odu09 - 02-14-2018 04:52 PM Yep. That was posted 12 hours ago in this thread. RE: NEW stadium construction - Monarchblue - 02-20-2018 10:29 AM I heard recently that there are still a ton of meetings with Populous going on. No specifics, but maybe there is room for a glimmer of optimism? RE: NEW stadium construction - odu09 - 02-20-2018 10:32 AM The longer the delay, the more optimistic I become. We kind of already know what the worst case is because we've heard it. I can only assume the news can get better the longer they figure things out. I understand that I could be very wrong. I'm not sure whether the worst case is we get a severely scaled back stadium or we get none at all. I would be on the side of nothing at all being better than a terrible new stadium that empties the coffers. I tend to agree. We have one chance to get this right. Do it right, or don't do it. We are under the gun a little bit though, because the VT contract demands that a new stadium be built in time for their second visit here. RE: NEW stadium construction - bit_9 - 02-20-2018 12:22 PM Not getting a new stadium isn't a option. That's been outlined. We have to remove existing stadium. Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent. RE: NEW stadium construction - Chillie Willie - 02-20-2018 01:10 PM (02-20-2018 12:22 PM)bit_9 Wrote: Not getting a new stadium isn't a option. That's been outlined. RE: NEW stadium construction - ETSUDB8-79 - 02-20-2018 01:37 PM So I asked around when the promised info did not come out last month. Alas, I don't know why but it has become almost impossible to get anything out of anybody and I have had pretty good luck in the past. However, I was told Ballard said the stadium is on schedule and things (ordering materials) are already in motion in that regard. Hope that is true since my last info on releasing the plans turned out to be a bust. RE: NEW stadium construction - ODUBB35 - 02-20-2018 01:50 PM Did they happen to mention what materials were ordered? Hopefully more than just seatbacks. Apparently the big issue is lining up the steel or so I was told. RE: NEW stadium construction - ODUi - 03-02-2018 09:15 AM Coastal Carolina's 20,000 seat stadium. Looks like steel, aluminum, and brick skirt. Is this what we're looking at for the new stadium? Would be nice to have a visual like this for our new stadium plans. http://coastalrising.seatpeek.com/ RE: NEW stadium construction - ODUDon - 03-02-2018 09:23 AM (02-20-2018 07:24 PM)Chillie Willie Wrote:(02-20-2018 02:39 PM)odu09 Wrote:I've seen others post some options like NSU or Harbor Park I believe. VA alumni event I attended this week that the wrecking balls will be poised on November 17, 2018 to take down FF and the new stadium will be completed before the 2019 season begins. He also said he would like nothing better than delaying the project by having the C-USA championship game held there! RE: NEW stadium construction - jumpshooter - 03-02-2018 09:40 AM At this point, who knows? This looks like a really nice stadium renovation for $38 million. http://www.goccusports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/032117aaa.html RE: NEW stadium construction - Punk - 03-02-2018 10:42 AM (02-20-2018 02:33 PM)ETSUDB8-79 Wrote:(02-20-2018 01:50 PM)ODUBB35 Wrote: Did they happen to mention what materials were ordered? Looks like steel, aluminum, and brick skirt. That does look nice. I hate how teams that announced going FBS a few years after us are so far ahead on the stadium expansions. This has to be squarely on leadership. What do they have that we don’t that makes things happen? Not including Liberty since they’re private and aren’t hamstrung by govt restrictions. It sounds like a bare minimum upgrade if it all can be done in 9 months. 2.) Where are the plans? (#1 may well explain the lack thereof.) |
