This part only affects the endzone seats as all other seats have built in seatbacks.

Implementing a no diaper bag policy should be a huge crowd pleaser. Tell just about any mom out there that they have to unpack their diaper bag and repack a clear bag for a 3 hour game...only to have to unpack the clear bag and repack the diaper bag.

Well she will be glad that ODU is one of the last to implement this policy and you should have told her to enjoy her diaper bag while she had the chance. Pretty much every stadium in the country has this policy.

Interesting. In the last 7.5 years, my wife and I've been to at least 10 different stadiums WITH a diaper bag and never had any problems.

Geez. And I thought my son was taking a long time to become potty trained.

How many bathroom diaper shelves did they break?

FYI, ECU did the same 2 wks ago. :shrugs:
https://ecupirates.com/news/2019/7/12/general-ecu-implements-new-bag-policy-for-dowdy-ficklen-stadium.aspx

In no way do I believe this makes us safer. It's not like there was a problem with rocket-launchers and AKs last year (despite one tweeter's opinions). If someone is intent on doing harm, clear bags ain't doing ****.

Will it expedite entry into the stadium? Maybe. Only if they aren't checking the clear bags beyond what they can see. How safe is that?

This only means I'll have to buy tampon flasks to have the missus sneak in the liquor.

RE: NEW stadium construction - DaBigBlue - 07-30-2019 09:57 AM

They were already checking handbags, the clear handbags will allow for a quicker security check. Which means shorter lines. It seems to be becoming very common. It isn't slowing anyone who want to bring in stuff. After the cooler weather we've are able to bring in six-packs/person under jackets, using a tube cooler.

The stadium is looking great. About a month to go.

Well, that is still what, 4500 seats?
Even ECU's new policy only prohibits arms (good thing), not seatbacks.
The Packers have a clear bag policy but still allow seatback chairs with no pockets.

Many fans will come from visiting schools with stadium seats in hand. I love mine, and would hate to think that I would be turned away at the gate of other stadiums.

RE: NEW stadium construction - AimHigher - 07-30-2019 10:09 AM

Good to see them being proactive for our safety. From a military background, the top deck of the parking garage could be a greater threat to a crowd at the stadium. With the right vehicle and weapon, a terrible person could wreak havoc from that advantage point.

I see your point and with the phase2 aka NEZ rebuild we should be able to eliminate the need for them completely. I will probably use mine for road games. They are still letting in the seat cushion, so the folks that currently have bench backs can coddle their fannies going forward.

Where do you see that the seat back is not being allowed in? It just says "no arms and no pockets allowed".

It's really odd of them to not state that in both areas of the notice, especially when they have a dedicated area on it just for cushions.

Doesn't affect me now, but I couldn't stand seat backs in good ol' Foreman. The chair and back were always several inches into what little leg space their was. The folks in them then would get snippy when the chair got hit 100x during the game from moving, cheering, or people walking by. Good riddance to them!

Absolutely hated how someone's knees are on my back all the frigging time so i almost always stood up at the edge close to the press box and cheered and yeah i absolutely hated when wine and cheese crowd told me to shut up. I hope i don't end up with too many of them in 212. Anyways all the lego blocks are in now for the scoreboard. I assume they still need to configure the display controller and test it along with the ribbon boards.
