Since Mr Barry K isn't selling a product, does he really need the exposure? Rather the name be attached prominently on the building somewhere. This is our friends new turf. See the difference? Thanks to BK for his lifetime contributions to ODU, but the name shouldn't be on the field. Use that space for sponsorship. That's prime real estate. What I see in this pic is a subpar stadium off I-81 compared to our new one. Our NEZ looks great compared to their visitor side and their scoreboard/end zone building looks disconnected and unattractive. ODU>JMU again! RE: NEW stadium construction - benny_t - 07-29-2019 02:28 PM New clear bag policy at the stadium. RE: NEW stadium construction - ODU AGGIE - 07-29-2019 02:34 PM Hallelujah! Our seats have been installed -- Section 114, Row T. MONARCHS REIGN! RE: NEW stadium construction - Petey Hodge - 07-29-2019 02:45 PM If JMU were smart, they’d put their TV cameras on top of their visitor bleachers. Their current view just... looks... sad RE: NEW stadium construction - monarx - 07-29-2019 02:50 PM (07-29-2019 02:45 PM)Petey Hodge Wrote: If JMU were smart, they’d put their TV cameras on top of their visitor bleachers. Everyone would. Its not just them. I wish we had their end zone, height and suites though. The people in their end zone do have a pretty good view of their scoreboard. The stadium does look kind of funky. If we could do what they did with their end zone in our NEZ I would be more than happy. And I do agree with you, if they had completed the lower horseshoe and compromised on some of the upper levels, it would make the stadium look so much better. Once they expand and make it symmetrical they are going to have quite the impressive looking stadium. Until then it will look half-assed and lopsided, and it's still really baffles me why they went this route (maybe to show potential growth to FBS conferences? idk) RE: NEW stadium construction - T-Mac - 07-29-2019 03:27 PM (07-29-2019 02:28 PM)benny_t Wrote: New clear bag policy at the stadium. Implementing a no diaper bag policy should be a huge crowd pleaser. Tell just about any mom out there that they have to unpack their diaper bag and repack a clear bag for a 3 hour game...only to have to unpack the clear bag and repack the diaper bag. Well she will be glad that ODU is one of the last to implement this policy and you should have told her to enjoy her diaper bag while she had the chance. Pretty much every stadium in the country has this policy. RE: NEW stadium construction - ODU2K1 - 07-29-2019 03:30 PM (07-29-2019 02:28 PM)benny_t Wrote: New clear bag policy at the stadium. The bag policy is a bit much. It’s not like security is going to not search everything coming in anyway. Banning giant chair backs (that people don’t need anymore but would still probably bring) is a good thing. Yeah, I was going to say that the diaper bag thing is pretty standard. Interesting. In the last 7.5 years, my wife and I've been to at least 10 different stadiums WITH a diaper bag and never had any problems. RE: NEW stadium construction - ODUCoach - 07-29-2019 03:34 PM Here's my issue with the bag policy: What are they trying to accomplish/keep out? In my mind, it's just an unnecessary hassle. Bags brought to athletics events present a list of safety and security concerns ranging from mere nuisance to terrorism — fans may sneak in food, alcohol, noisemakers, weapons or other prohibited items — and checking each individual bag represents a substantial commitment of manpower, time, access control technology, or perhaps all three. Article is from a few years ago, so I'm not sure what the current number is for colleges implementing it - https://www.athleticbusiness.com/stadium-arena-security/clear-bag-policies-become-standard-in-college-athletics.html RE: NEW stadium construction - monarx - 07-29-2019 03:39 PM (07-29-2019 03:34 PM)ODUCoach Wrote: Here's my issue with the bag policy: What are they trying to accomplish/keep out?
