Have to retract my observation that there were not many people working today. Saw lots of people working.Talked to someone who worked for the electrical contractor. He said new scoreboard install starts 27th. Cameras will soon all be off as they transition electrical source from a temporary terminal to the stadiums internal electrical source. Elevators have already been installed!!. Did not know that. seating on east side stopped due to shortage of one piece of tread. Additional tread to arrive this week. Talked to a friend of mine a week or so ago who was working on door jams. He said because of all the constant changes up to the last minute (and continuing past that minute), just about every interior prefab piece was incorrect as far as where doors/passage ways were. New openings had to be cut and some openings closed up. I'm wondering what else was affected and had to be tweaked on site due to all the changes. I know it's not an issue and was expected by them, but was just interesting insight. But if nothing changes (if ODU cannot take over bluestone) then expansion will be eastward. Maybe we can add a big sunscreen straight up on top of the press box (this was a half joke) RE: NEW stadium construction - Punk - 07-08-2019 01:15 PM Some pics of the West Side seats since the camera is still down RE: NEW stadium construction - owynn - 07-08-2019 03:11 PM R.I.P. West Side Tower cam. Looks like we’re SOL for a while on cameras. Never mind. I forgot to refresh the page. It’s been a long weekend. RE: NEW stadium construction - HeadsetGuy - 07-08-2019 03:24 PM I was there this am; plenty of construction apparatus: scaffolding and shoring elements being removed from the press box; no paint teams; plenty of plastering going on; one neat twist, the end of press box skyboxes, their windows open outwards, it freaked me out to see a worker lean out and then go back in and close the window; press row for for us guys on the team the sashes raise up and down. 90% of chairbacks in, both sides still need bleacher work. An earlier poster noted the new 2nd level speakers, they are very prevalent and are directed in every conceivable angle (the sounds engineers will be working OT to get the coverage right). RE: NEW stadium construction - VB Monarch - 07-08-2019 03:35 PM One thing that struck me yesterday was how eager the two men I talked to were to talk about the stadium. I got the impression they are really proud of their efforts and are more than willing to talk. I thanked the one guy who was in charge of seating. RE: NEW stadium construction - bigblueodu - 07-08-2019 06:25 PM So it appears you could still get good seats on visitor side with no seat fees. http://www.odusports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=31100&ATCLID=211806657 Sent from my SM-G965U using CSNbbs mobile app NEW stadium construction - bit_9 - 07-08-2019 06:51 PM Quite a few seats right beside mine on west side too. Crazy. Hopefully they get scooped up fast and a new fanbase starts growing. RE: NEW stadium construction - GhentFan - 07-09-2019 04:00 AM I just bought a number of single game tickets through the alumni association because the older seat view made it appear that my only options were the endzone or visitor side somewhere between the 30 yard line and the end zone. Nice to see there are more options. Next improvement on the site should make the map clickable so you could enlarge the stadium map. Wish I saw this article a few hours earlier. In fact I could get the mirror image seats, only on the north side instead of the south side, right now, with no seat fees whatsoever. I think this may be my only year of paying the fees and I'll just go with whatever is available in the future. At my price range, the options are nearly as good. Im worried for ODU that this seat fee thing is going to backfire big time. At least until we get some bowl caliber winning teams back in the stadium and make our tailgate scene the "place to be" again. RE: NEW stadium construction - bigblueodu - 07-09-2019 07:35 AM Seat fees still apply. The article says when you select your seats you'll know exactly what you pay, buy that's not accurate the final total tallies after you select the seats and get ready to pay. Sent from my SM-G965U using CSNbbs mobile app RE: NEW stadium construction - Monarchist13 - 07-09-2019 08:07 AM Yeah, the same seat fees still apply. By the way, if you had that much of an issue paying the seat fee, why didn't you pick out seats that didn't have one? There were plenty. RE: NEW stadium construction - The Flagship - 07-09-2019 09:04 AM Camera #1 is back up..........for now. RE: NEW stadium construction - VB Monarch - 07-09-2019 09:38 AM Looks like turf installation equipment is moving into place. I wanted a better seat in case it was my seat for a long time. The issue is, it appears they may have to sell the seats all around me without the fee. So many will have basically the same seats for less. Thats fine. Id rather have the stadium full of fans. It just doesnt make sense to pay the fee in years to come if one can get basically the same seats without the fee. We'll see how it all shakes out. Im prepared to keep paying it if needed. How will "many have the same seats for less" when those folks have to pay the same fee as you? You're jumping to a conclusion that may not ever happen. RE: NEW stadium construction - Blue_Trombone - 07-09-2019 11:22 AM I could see seat memberships not being applied to single-game tickets. RE: NEW stadium construction - VB Monarch - 07-09-2019 11:41 AM Ha camera 1 back down. 2 loose wires must have accidentally touched to bring it back up for a minute /s RE: NEW stadium construction - DaBigBlue - 07-09-2019 11:43 AM They can't get the membership fee on single game tixs, the price would be to high. I paid 50% more and got worse seats. Now the comfort level will be much better.
