Think Boise State is having regrets? - KNIGHTTIME - 12-03-2017 09:59 PM

League is in another major bowl and now also the Liberty. The mwc has turned into a train wreck outside of Fresno, SDSU, and Boise.

It's always been Boise and the 11 Dwarfs. They are a huge fish in a puddle. SFSU and Fresno had their best seasons ever this year, yet still remain Boise's b****es.

All MWC schools should idolize and pray for the Smurfs in order to continue making the MWC somewhat relevant in college athletics.

Where will they make the most money and how does being in the AAC help then?

RE: Think Boise State is having regrets? - Huskypride - 12-03-2017 10:13 PM

the great broncos of the BSU. well they will regret the conference they are in once they are done and morally destroyed from the ass whooping that they are gonna get from us a bottom feeder in the aac(for now)... next year!!!

RE: Think Boise State is having regrets? - C2__ - 12-03-2017 10:18 PM

Why would they regret anything? They have a great setup and have been to a NY6 bowl in recent years.

RE: Think Boise State is having regrets? - Boca Rocket - 12-03-2017 10:26 PM

Playing Oregon in Vegas, what a horrible fate!

RE: Think Boise State is having regrets? - MJG - 12-03-2017 10:30 PM

SDSU has won as much as Boise since Boise joined the MWC. The difference SDSU has multiple basketball and other conference championships Boise does not. The Access Bowl has eluded SDSU is another difference.

Boise? no, why woud they? they make more than use because of their sweetheart deal, always on tv. and likely picked first for any good mwc bowl

boise wont have any regrets until the next tv, if we make more. they are a greedy bunch, money will be the only thing to give them regret

SDSU- despite anything fanhood says i know the people in charge regret coming back.. they make way less than they would have in the AAC, Dramatically less tv exposure, play in a dramatically weaker division than what would have been created in the AAC...they have never been ranked by the cfp despite being top 4 g5 the last 3 years.
they have been to 3 bowl the last 3 years...2015) mwc champs vs #6 aac..2016) mwc champs vs #6 aac...2017) 10-2 with 2 p5 win vs not amazing army (almost had to play #8 c-usa)

especially considering they never wanted to leave..im curious in the people in charge resent Boise

Apparently you have not been paying attention... Their success is back when the AAC was in its early baby step stages and while no one thought this league would create equity so quickly.

Well the MAC went to the access last year so there is that. BSU returns 90% of its starters for next year. Should be a good season for the Broncos again. Oky Light,
Troy, BYU, and UCONN ooc.

I think SDSU is the one with the regrets. Didn't they take the deal or is my memory fuzzy?

Would be nice to add Boise and BYU. Gives the AAC a little extra padding, late-night exposure, and some brand names.

Boise landed the Vegas Bowl vs. Oregon. That's as good as it gets for them outside of the Access Bowl.

The people that run the Las Vegas Bowl are probably thrilled to pick Boise. I couldn't believe how few people San Diego State brought to that game last year. Maybe 5,000 and it seemed as if most of them drove in the day of the game or the night before. They had more than us, but not by much. I don't think I saw a single SDSU shirt/hat anywhere the 5 days I spent on the Strip.

BYU yes, Boise no. I wish AAC teams would quit scheduling them.
Why pad the strength of schedule for them.

Boise is playing an Oregon team in the Vegas Bowl. Very similar to Memphis playing Iowa State. In fact, you could argue it is better. What would Boise be upset about.

The AAC has a good Bowl Lineup this year. No doubt. But why would you need to exaggerate. Its like someone that makes $350k a year constantly talking about being a millionaire. Unnecessary and weird.

Well, SDSU is 32-8 in three years, and won two straight championships, so there is that.

But are they exaggerating? 4 years of saving and investing and they probably are a millionaire.

True, but they are not the 1% of the MWC like Boise is and their sweetheart deal. Imagine if SDST did go to the AAC.

Also, can you imagine a bottom team such as Hawaii for example, ever rising to the top of the MWC like former bottom UCF did? In the AAC you might see any team rise to the top but never in the MWC.

Finally, not only stronger competition in football but clearly more money coming in in basketball with as many as 4 teams representing them in the tourney.

Ha. Good point. I'll rephrase........

You just used a bad example. Yes, Hawaii actually has played in a BCS Bowl and has had two different eras where they were very good. Better example would be Air Force. I cannot imagine AFA ever doing what UCF did.

And what is your definition of "rise?"

Doubt it. They always land in a good bowl if they don’t get in the Fiesta Bowl. Cactus last year, and Las Vegas this year. I saw college basketball rpi rankings by conference last night and the MWC was ranked 7th edging the AAC at 8th. Boise was a bubble team with SDSU and someone else. Nevada was almost top 10. Had no idea the MWC was any good at basketball this year. The A 10 sucks badly this year and WSU’s Old conference (MVC) was 6th.
So, no, I doubt Boise regrets not playing games vs Tulsa, Tulane and Temple in the American West.
