Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - Kaplony - 11-29-2017 07:07 PM https://www.politico.com/story/2017/11/29/jim-clyburn-sexual-harassment-congress-standards-268642 Quote:Rep. Jim Clyburn suggested Wednesday that his House colleague Rep. John Conyers should be held to a different standard when it comes to the possibility of resignation over allegations of sexual assault, saying that Conyers’ status as an elected member of Congress places him in a different category from media and entertainment figures who have had similar accusations leveled against them. Quote:But Clyburn, in an interview with The New York Times, cast doubt on the accounts of Conyers’ accusers and cautioned against a rush to force out his colleague. What at utter embarrassment for the state of SC. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - miko33 - 11-29-2017 07:16 PM The irony in all of this is all the blowback the dems are experiencing as a result of them going so hard after Trump with sex abuse allegations in 2016. You can throw in Roy Moore too I suppose. Too bad the evidence against these dems is much more ironclad. I find it nauseatingly laughable that Clyburn suggests that elected officials be held to a different standard - thus blowing a hole in the ideal of "equality for all"... RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - rath v2.0 - 11-29-2017 07:30 PM The aristocracy. **** em. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - EagleX - 11-29-2017 10:17 PM apparently, conyers is being wrongly accused by a bunch of racist white chicks . . . Quote:“James Clyburn compared Conyers’ accusers to the child murderer Susan Smith, who initially claimed a black man had abducted her kids. Clyburn said, these are all white women who’ve made these charges against Conyers,” Robert Draper tweeted. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - rath v2.0 - 11-29-2017 10:46 PM James Clyburn should be forced to resign for either being a racist, a sexist, or for being too stupid for the job. What a shill. What a shill. He's a perfect representative for his district. If you ever want to see a slice of his district just tune in to Live PD on A&E. Just about every Richland County SC segment is filmed in his district. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - rath v2.0 - 11-29-2017 10:53 PM it's a good gig being Arch Duke of a district because you look the part. These are lifetime appointments as long as the ethics violations don't catch up. Whites with means would have left anyway. Most left crowded white ethnic hoods. "White" flight was really social economic flight. I don't disagree.....was only 'tagging' the bold as it has been 'defined' by too many within the timeline.... and yeah.....you defined why Ike was my last fave..... it's ironic he learned it from ze germans (hitler) he saw the value of the audobahn......freakin' perfect timing based on tech at that time..... RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - BearcatMan - 11-30-2017 09:43 AM This is what happens when we have a small group of people who figure out they control the laws and an uneducated populace will continue to vote for them for no specific reason. The whole ******* Chesapeake Bay Area needs to be fumigated to remove the pests on both sides. Unfortunately, those who want to (and could) make a difference don't want anything to do with government. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - Redwingtom - 11-30-2017 12:25 PM Clyburn calls for Conyers to resign: report Quote:Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) on Thursday called on Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) to resign in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations made against him, according to a reporter with Politico. Clyburn is trying to drill a hole to prevent the crack from getting worse. The names associated with the slush fund need to remain anonymous in his mind. Therefore, he's cutting his losses now in hopes of it going away. That plus it's the politically expedient thing to do. RE: Clyburn suggests different standard for Congress in sex allegations - Fitbud - 11-30-2017 12:58 PM If the persons being accused of misconduct admit to what they did then an investigation and fair punishment should be made. I have a problem with people being accused in Government being expected to be fired. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Quote:Every time these BCC idiots get in front of a mic they look like the clown who thought Guam might tip over.Clyburn was already there. He's been there since he built a $4.2 million shrine to himself with a pedestrian overpass over I-277 in Columbia that people still don't use and wanting to build a $150 million bridge across Lake Marion to connect two towns (Lone Star and Rimini) who's combined population is less than 1000, nevermind the damage it would do to Sparkleberry Swamp, a pristine wetlands abundant with wildlife. He claimed to was to give better access to hospitals but it was pointed out that the closest hospital to each town was already on their side of the lake. Then he claimed it would bring jobs, but neither area has any infrastructure to support anything other than small scale retail. He points at how Santee has such a vibrant economy and is a bridgehead but fails to acknowledge the fact that Santee also has I95 crossing it's bridge and before that it ha US301, one of the major N/S routes from the Mid-Atlantic to Florida running from just south of Newark, Delaware to Sarasota, Florida. The bridge to nowhere would be a state highway connecting two secondary roads where the three biggest commercial enterprises are two boat landings and a wholesale nursery. Well, as much as I despise Pelosi, I have to give here some credit for stating today that Conyers' accusers were credible and he should resign!
