- JoltinJacket - 07-03-2003 12:32 AM The race to find team #12 has taken a detour into SEC country. Apparently, the ACC is taking a long, hard look at UF, South Carolina and Kentucky. Quote:The ACC has taken two teams from the Big East. An SEC team could be next. - NewspaperRebel - 07-03-2003 06:31 AM With Florida's Big Three all in the same conference, I'm afraid some of the weaker ACC teams would take a yearly beating that might send them into 1-AA sports. I really wouldn't like to see that! - DawgNBama - 07-03-2003 08:06 AM i seriously doubt it. UF won't play Miami on a regular basis OOC. What makes you think they would want to be in the same conference as the 'Canes?? Plus, I have some serious doubts about FSU wanting UF in the ACC. South Carolina is out also. My $$ is on UK. - NewspaperRebel - 07-03-2003 08:28 AM DawgNBama Wrote:i seriously doubt it. UF won't play Miami on a regular basis OOC. Plus, I have some serious doubts about FSU wanting UF in the ACC.I never said anything about anyone wanting to be anywhere. I really don't see any more movement unless it's UK to the ACC. And, that's a far shot! - calling_the_hogs - 07-03-2003 09:27 AM Frank Broyles is no idiot when it comes to these things, so I wouldn't be surprised if the ACC did come calling for one of those 3 schools. I WOULD be surprised though if one of them left. With TV contracts and $$$$ rolling out of its ears, I doubt any school would leave the SEC for a conference with less TV rights and less $$$. Arkansas has been the topic of the Big 12 for several years, but Broyles said we're staying for the same reasons above. WPS - NCGatorBait - 07-03-2003 11:56 PM DawgNBama Wrote:i seriously doubt it. Anyway, for selfish reasons I'd love to see UF in the ACC. I'd love to catch the Gators playing up here in NC..but it will never happen. - DawgNBama - 07-04-2003 07:47 AM NCGatorBait Wrote:Didn't know that NCGatorBait. BTW, why doesn't UF schedule NC State some time on the OOC sched? I really don't consider the Wolfpack a cupcake at all (heck, I wouldn't mind if my Dawgs played 'em sometime). Give UNC some time, and I won't consider them a cupcake either in football. :DDawgNBama Wrote:i seriously doubt it. UF won't play Miami on a regular basis OOC. Someone is hitting the bottle hard if they think Florida is leaving the SEC. By the way, like NC said, Spurrier wanted Miami back on the schedule. Miami ducked it and in all reality with us already down a home game every other year to the Cocktail Party, we lose too much money by giving away another gate unless there is a 12 game season. UF-Miami is scheduled for the 12 game season in 2007, I believe. Not sure where it'll be played, though it seems to me that it'd be our turn to host the game. - TampaCajun - 07-14-2003 02:04 PM no one is leaving the SEC. Frank Broyles IS an idiot and is just wanting to see his name in print I imagine. Why would anyone leave??? All they have to do is finish in the top 7 and they get to go to a bowl. The revenue sharing outside of the SEC doesn't even come close to what they get by staying in the SEC. - MsNole - 07-30-2003 05:34 PM Florida played Miami last year and I do believe y'all are also playing them this year. :D By the way Gators, love your media guide with the Croc on it... Last I heard, the ACC is courting Notre Dame. - NCGatorBait - 07-30-2003 10:11 PM Ms Nole...I'm changing my name to NCCrocBait! :D BTW, here's the new helmets! - MsNole - 07-31-2003 09:28 AM NCGatorBait Wrote:Ms Nole...I'm changing my name to NCCrocBait! :Dto you NC!!! :D - Gabi - 08-01-2003 05:51 PM NCGatorBait Wrote:Ms Nole...I'm changing my name to NCCrocBait! :D :D - calling_the_hogs - 08-01-2003 11:16 PM TampaCajun Wrote:no one is leaving the SEC. He's easily the most powerful man in the state, and it's doubtful that any AD in the NCAA has done more for their program than Frank Broyles has for us. But yeah, you call him an idiot TC. I guess Skip Bertman's IQ equals his shoe size if that's true. WPS - NCGatorBait - 08-02-2003 10:45 AM [quote="Gabi"] [quote="NCGatorBait"]Ms Nole...I'm changing my name to NCCrocBait! :D - Paul - 08-02-2003 06:11 PM Croc is correct... UF dropped Miami after the 1987 season. SOS never attempted to get Miami on the schedule. He was even quoted as saying they would have to give up a home game and why would they want to do that with 85,000 showing up for Akron. I've got nothing against the financial logic...but you know and I know...SOS wanted nothing to do with the 'Canes. They could add the 'Canes right now, if they wanted too. Those 1AA's and mid-majors are one or two years in the making and are changed all the time. Miami lobbied for a decade to get back on the UF schedule, and why not...It was another easy win for them. - GatorMan32 - 08-03-2003 05:57 PM Spurrier said that? Prove it. Can't can you? Just another Nole talking out of its arse. Fact is, Spurrier wanted Miami back on the schedule and Miami ducked UF for several years. Miami also ducked the SEC. You know and I know that you don't know $h!t but you like to run your mouth. Well dadgumit, right now you have a senile ol' coach who dun sold his soul and it will be your program that will pay the price when he is kicking it in his adult diapers in a retirement home. So, you may want to keep quiet because you all are about to hit rock bottom. - Paul - 08-05-2003 01:43 AM Oh...but I can prove it... May take a day or two to go find it...but I'll prove it! No...not taliking out my arse... Most of my buddies from High School days...were Gaytors. When I was coaching...I dated the granddaughter of JJ Tigert (Tigert Hall)... and in the late 80's...dated one of the Director's of Alumni Affairs at UF. I'll not only prove he said it...but I will tell you why the Gaytors dropped them. Care to venture on... |
