Oh eh...The Blue Hens of Delaware just crushed U of R tonight at Richmond! WOW! Hens could be a problem for people now. Fun times! They were up 49 to 20 at the break or something like that away. Could you imagine Trask dealing with that? That's nuts! Good for the Blue Hens and the CAA but they kind of "woke up" some people. Good to see them show some muscle against the A 10!

Delaware builds 33-point lead, holds off Richmond 76-63

And Delaware did it in front of a sellout crowd!

Speaking of season-openers, Davidson hit Twenty-Six three point shots and scored 110 points in theirs...

Drexel showed where depth hurt us against Bowling Green. Had 3 or 4 players that are regulars out and we allowed a 19-0 run that took a 10 point lead into a 9 point deficit once our only big that was dressed sat out with fouls. We got it close but never quite recovered. It sucked to lose but was pretty promising with a short bench to show that type of promise. We followed that up with a win over Arcadia (ugh) where we had most of the team back. Drexel is still in trouble if we dont figure out some semblance of defense, but the team will score some points.

Chris Clemons has 66 points thru his first 2 games. And he's just beginning his Junior season. Crazy.

He's scary on the offensive side of the court. Hope we have a good game plan for that on the defensive side.

Campbell gave Penn St a good game in their opener as well

In the only game on the schedule tonight, W&M bounced back from their awful loss @ High Point (100-66) with a home victory over Hampton, 83-76.

Not sure if Hampton is any good, and they certainly still can't be too pleased with their defense, but they really didn't need to be starting the campaign 0-2. Not with a trio of tough opponents coming up in UCF, ODU, and Marshall (all 3 teams are 2-0).

Can't be any worse than our D!

The CAA is currently 6-9 against D1 competition. Half the conference does not have a D1 win yet

2-0 Hofstra plays Dayton tonight in Charleston on ESPNU. That should be fun game to watch.

Brantley out 4-6 weeks for CofC with a left knee injury he suffered in practice prior to the Siena game. Tough loss for the Cougars. Will likely be back for conference play, though.

Man that's a tough break! Hate to see stuff like that happen, even to a rival.

1:40 left in the Hofstra Dayton game with Hofstra up 2. Hofstra led virtually the entire game

From Alex Riley via Twitter:
Injury update: UNCW coach C.B. McGrath is hopeful that Jaquel Richmond will be able to play a limited role on Saturday, but Matt Elmore is out for the foreseeable future. He'll be having knee surgery tomorrow.

Hofstra wins a virtual road game. Dayton traveled really well and filled CoCs arena. Hofstra gets Clemson tomorrow. Congrats pride

Thank you. I'm not saying it was easy for Hofstra, but the attendance was only 3,175, making it 62.3 percent full. When Hofstra went to you last season the attendance was over 50 percent higher than that. Eli Pemberton scored a career-high 27. I wouldn't be surprised to see in him graduate as one of the best five or ten players to play four seasons for Hofstra in the CAA. Hofstra's opponents have shot free throws only .605. That's worse than Rokas Gustys's free throw percentage so far, and Gustys shot free throws .280 last season.

RE: CAA Non Conference 2017 - Seahawk Nation 08 - 11-17-2017 02:57 PM

Hofstra faces Brownell's Clemson squad tonight @ 9:30 PM, on ESPNU.
