It's hard to say this is a must win game when they're just playing for pride, but it's a must win. Leave the home field with a good feeling and hopefully set up a finish of winning at least two of the last three. They need to get one on the road somehow.

Bucs are 17 1/2 point favs.

Don't forget it's Senior Recognition Day, prior to kickoff with 27 seniors playing their last game for ETSU. Please get there early to show these guys your appreciation. Several of them have been there since the beginning. GO BUCS!

Some but others will be graduating either in December or May and still have a year of eligibility but have chosen to pursue their careers.

Nice fumble Falon, need to get some better RB's.

RE: Official Game Thread: VMI - etsubuc - 11-04-2017 03:48 PM

I think that I am starting to get on board with the idea that the OC needs to go.

It's pretty ridiculous. How many times have we *NOT* run it into the line on first down? Just now did that on first and 20.

Bucs took care of business and got a good win today. I thought we left a couple of touchdowns on the field but defense played great. Good win.

Well today gave us the answer to which redshirt juniors were not planning on coming back. Stinson, Powell, and Sexton were some that I noticed. With the losses of Lowe at receiver and Lee at running back, it does seem that we have a few holes to fill next season especially at receiver. I wonder who the backup quarterback will be?

We ran the ball 50 times today, didn't see that coming. Kickoff returns seemed better than normal. Overall another good day!

RE: Official Game Thread: VMI - Buc76 - 11-04-2017 08:13 PM

Same game plan, predictable and conservative. VMI played run on 1st and 2nd and blitzed on third down. Same type of defense the Bucs see every week and they make no adjustments, no changes.

VMI was the smallest college team I've seen. Local high school teams have bigger players. Their front four 227, 227, 270 and 229 but they loaded the box and for three quarters stymied the Bucs. If it hadn't been a batted pass that turned into a TD for the Bucs, the game would have been a lot closer.

As usual, defense bailed out the offense.

If the Bucs follow the same offensive game plan the next two weeks, they are in big trouble.

Sandusky will probably be QB #2. Who are we gonna play at RB next season? No Lee or Stinson. Do we have a RB redshirting that could take the reigns?

What happened to the QB from Sullivan South, Dylan Weiger?

You have no clue who will be backup next year. You are just trolling because several ppl on here are questioning why weiger hasn’t got a shot. Legit questions mind you since our offense is lackluster at best. I know everyone on this site is in love with herink and he seems like a great kid who has played hard and tough but we need a game changer at that position. We need the equivalent to Nasir Player on offense. Is weiger that guy? Probably not, but over the past 2 seasons there have been chances to play all players yet this is one position we seem to not want to try anything.

RE: Official Game Thread: VMI - Buc76 - 11-04-2017 09:25 PM

It won't make any difference who plays QB if the Bucs run ( no pun intended ) the same offense next year.

RE: Official Game Thread: VMI - etsubuc - 11-04-2017 09:34 PM

Brock, do you not remember our first year when we went out of our way, even giving up the chance to win some additional games, to give Sexton a chance?

Coach has said that Weiger doesn't practice particularly well. That is fair I guess. Yes, I am in love with Herink as I think he and Vincent Lowe are our best offensive weapons. Herink has had to deal with a subpar (putting it nicely) offensive line and I think has performed very well. I do agree that our offensive play calling has to improve or we will not have a successful season next year. More diverse play calling can help alleviate some pressure on the offensive line.

You may have a point

I’m not talking about splitting reps but there have been some games where he could have got some snaps, especially last year.

Ocain had his best years with qbs who were able to run. That is not herinks strength. Either fix issues with the line, call different plays or find a mobile qb because right now it feels like herink is just getting killed back there.

Not sure why you are so fired up, but I say that because I have heard that from multiple people.
