NIU national ranking for defense - MaddDawgz02 - 10-08-2017 10:07 AM
The 7th best defensive team in the nation resides in DeKalb, IL!!

5. Alabama
6. Georgia Tech
7. Northern Illinois
8. Clemson
NIU also ranks as the 16th best rushing defense. Pretty amazing.

They are fun to watch play! Buffalo is going to sling it next week. We have been facing run heavy offenses all season. Buffalo is pass first from what I saw yesterday. It should be an interesting matchup in Buffalo.
Does the team fly out to Buffalo? Please tell me thats not a bus ride.

I would imagine they would fly that one, not sure though. Definitely will be an interesting matchup. Seeing their QB yesterday scared me a little, he gets rid of it quick and with some velocity, its going to be a test.
Massey's early line on the game is Huskies by 7.

Our secondary with jump a few of those passes. Hopefully, we can hang onto them. We dropped three yesterday in the fourth quarter... It could be the difference in the game if our offense and special teams decide to be generous YET again.

Considering the level of competition NIU has faced so far makes that stat all the more amazing. SDST has a great chance of getting the Non AQ bid and the Huskies shut their offense down all game long.

Very true. However, EMU is right behind us at #21 in scoring defense; no other MAC team is in the top 50.

Let's remind him about Alabama. We beat Alabama. At Alabama. When Alabama was ranked. He's not at Alabama anymore. Alabama has never beaten NIU.
