As well as WKU.

Another example of how bad image currently is.

Some of you are probably really fun at parties.

As long as it isn't a selection Sunday watch party

If we had hit a few more free throws in Williamsburg we would be now. After we beat the Rams on Saturday, we will be anyway.

Meanwhile, that Towson win is looking pretty great right now. They beat LaSalle in a tournament in Belfast today and they're now 7-1, with ODU responsible for the "1".

RE: 2017 basketball - ODU BBALL - 12-01-2017 05:46 PM

AAC isn't considered a mid-major?

The argument could be made that AAC, A10 are not mid majors. I personally feel A10 is still mid, even if we were there. Big East is definitely not mid major.

Ignoring whether ODU should be on or not; that list is terrible. Has he seen uNLV play? They would rout most teams on that list. UT Arlington is decent, but come on. Albany......lol

Didn't know where to put this but I was watching Villanova/Gonzaga last night....Villanova plays beautiful basketball. It is an absolute pleasure to watch them play.

RE: 2017 basketball - mac - 12-06-2017 09:41 AM

Yes they do. As they said on the broadcast. Shooters everywhere, pass with two hands, catch with two hands.

No NBA lottery picks, just good solid, coachable players that improve as they go through Villanova. They play the game the right way. Run good offensive looks and play solid defense.

I remember they were one of the first teams to essentially play four guards...Lowry, Ray, Foye, Nardi. Now, they play a lot of 3 guard with the monster Bridges as one of the forwards and then a guy down low.

As much as we complain about C-USA strength of schedule, we seem to be somewhat holding our own (for now) this year. We are the 13th ranked conference in RPI and have Empty Sue, LA Tech and W KY currently in the top 50. FAU, UAB and Marshal have a shot at being in the 100-150 range heading in to conference play which would at least not be RPI killers. I realize there are some bottom feeders in our conference but every mid major has to deal with that.

I'm not saying we will be a multi bid league but if some of these teams can hang in there over the next few weeks there may be opportunities for good wins inside conference play. I'm not saying it's going to be us, but there may be an outside shot for someone other than the tourney winner to make the dance. So I'm saying there's a chance.

We needed Temple and VCU. Now we need the CUSA tourny. Team has certainly improved, but they are not an at-large team as we saw on Saturday. We just cannot compete for 40 minutes with our lack of depth. As I said before the season, we needed one of the freshman to be ready to step up. That didn't happen. We have a 3 guard system and only 4 guards ready to play and they aren't in good enough shape to make shots in the last 10 minutes against a team defending them full court. Moreover, we only have 3 forwards for 2 slots. Not going to cut it. We desperately need Godwin and Hueitt ready by March.

Having both contribute would be nice.

I'm just mostly glad we are no longer feeling the need to redshirt players just to get them ready. Looks like this staff wants to keep recruiting vs. constantly saving kids waiting for them to get older.

Looking ahead to the future, the only underclassmen big man on the team is Aaron Carver, and he plays smaller than 6'7". We desperately need a transfer.

We have Porter for next year as well as Carver, Pilvious, and I'm guessing McClinton for a year. Reece and Ekikpe will be freshman.

Not really against a big man transfer, but I don't think its dire straights in terms of numbers.
