10 years ago I wouldn't have sweated this game....since these were the kinda games when Jeff Bowah flourished as a Corch....(He just basically stopped winning as an underdog at a school that took pride in knocking off the "big boys")
Since 2011 (and maybe even some ways under Fedora*), we don't seem to have the same chip on the shoulder we once had, or the reputation we once held from teams like ULM (they know now they can beat us because they've seen the film)...
*Disclaimer: I'm not comparing Bowah to Fedora, Monkie or anyone....It's just a fact, back in the day, we were pretty much gonna win games against the ULM's of the world.
It also once was a given at USM we could lose to anyone, or beat anyone...today it's pretty much, "we could lose to anyone".

I'm pretty certain that this ULM team would match up favorably with that winless Rice squad that came into the Rock midweek and beat Bower's team in one of his last years.
But you are correct... For the most part, Bower's teams beat the teams they should beat and got beat by the teams they were expected to lose to.

...and Brer Bryant lost to little ol' USM to end their 72 game home winning streak...and I'm sure they were expecting it to be Tennessee, LSU or Georgia!
I'm sure every corch has lost more than one game to someone they shouldn't have...
But you are right, Bowah won most of the games he should have (and he won 75% of C-USA games) but utterly failed to continue our reputation as a GIANT KILLER.

ULM has wins over Bama and Ark with in the last 10 years. Can any school in CUSA say that? This school seems to do more with less than any FBS school.

1) ULM's win over Alabama will only be "within the last ten years" for a few more days.
2) That was a 6-6 Bama team that officially went 2-6 after having to forfeit 4 wins, but a win in Tuscaloosa should be cherished by any G5 team, regardless of circumstances, but Warhawks gonna Warhawk and despite that Bama win ULM went 6-6 in 2007 and lost to Troy, UNT(2-10) and MT(5-7).
3) Even when Kolton Browning put the Warhawks on his back against the Hogs(4-8) and nearly pulled it off against Auburn the following week(3-9), the best the Warhawks could manage was 8-5 with losses to ULL, Arkansas State and a bowl loss to Ohio.
Their accomplishments are those two wins and their lone bowl appearance. The only reason you can say they do more with less is because their budget is sooooo small.

ULM has not been world beaters over the last 10 years but at least they stay competitive and usually around middle up in conference play...
a miss extra point away from 6 or more wins in 5 of the last 10 seasons

Them beating USM would not surprise me. USM boat racing them would not surprise me.
I'm just glad we're not playing them and really glad we're not playing them with Kolton Browning running things. Dude killed us.

No they don't. They've done terrible they since joined the FBS ranks. ULM is 49-73 in those last 10 seasons you mentioned, and they've had only one winning season out of the last 17. If that's what you mean by "doing more with less", I think I'll pass. Signature wins once in a blue moon are nice to get, but they're way overrated.
