KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - GoFlashes7 - 09-12-2017 06:44 PM KSU Women's Golf ranked #14 in the nation to start the sesason, finished 4th @ -8 behind Texas Tech -10, Oklahoma -11, & Duke -33 @ the Jim West Challenge Tournament. The starting (5) were 1 Pimnipa Panthong, 2 Marissa Kirkwood, 3 Michaela Finn, 4 Kelly Nielsen, 5 Kory Nielsen. Interesting that Karoline Stormo wasn't in the starting 5 as she was a constant in the lineup last fall & spring. Best of luck to Wad Phaewchimplee in her professional career as she has an excellent career @ KSU. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - bopol - 09-12-2017 09:41 PM I think making the LPGA is harder than the PGA for former college stars because so many of the best women golfers skip college altogether. FWIW, I knew a woman golfer at a lesser D1 school and she said that the top players would all take one fall tournament off to give others a chance to play and develop, so that might be the case with Stormo. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - axeme - 09-18-2017 12:06 PM The women are tearing it up in round 1 of the Mercedes Collegiate Championships. 10-under into the back nine and an 8 stroke lead. Lots of golf left though. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - axeme - 09-18-2017 12:09 PM And as fast as I could post that, they are 12-under and a 10 shot lead. Mercedes Collegiate Championships--LIVE SCORING RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - axeme - 09-18-2017 06:30 PM Wild ride today. That 10 stroke lead became a 4 shot deficit to Illinois in the middle of the 2nd round, then a lead again until the end and a tie at 8-under. Should be a great duel with the Illini tomorrow in the final round. No other team is close. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - GoFlashes7 - 01-17-2018 02:56 PM KSU Women's Golf is 3 weeks away from their 1st spring tournament, which is the Mid-American Match Play Challenge in Bradenton FL on February 5th/6th. It is the 1st of 6 spring tournaments for the KSU's Women's team and then MAC Tournament is in Naperville IL. Midyear transfer - Chloe Salort from France is on campus/enrolled in spring classes. Based upon fall scoring averages, the KSU Women's spring lineup will be Panthong, Finn, Nielsen (Kory), Stormo, & Kirkwood, but Salort should slide into the lineup somewhere and Kelly Nielsen's scoring average isn't much higher than Kirkwood's. On the hunt for their 20th straight MAC Championship. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - burden - 04-21-2018 06:55 PM It looks like another MAC title in women’s golf. We are us by 36 strokes after round two. One more round on Sunday. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - axeme - 05-07-2018 06:41 AM NCAA Regional Golf--LIVE SCORING Tourney gets underway later today. They are playing on TPC Harding Park which is a classic old course. They shut the course down about 15 years ago to bring it back to being the kind of course that can hold modern championships. They recently hosted WGC and Champions Tour events. They will host the PGA Championship in 2020 and the Presidents Cup in 2025. In other words, big time course. Eighteen teams, 54-holes, with the top six teams advancing to the NCAA Championship May 18-23 in Stillwater, OK. There are six top 25 teams in the field and we (ranked #16) are the #4 seed. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - burden - 05-07-2018 04:03 PM We’re done with the first round and are in 3rd place at -4. Two behind Colorado and 4 behind UCLA. Teams are finishing up but there probably won’t be any change in our position. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - axeme - 05-07-2018 05:12 PM Most importantly, 5 shots ahead of 7th. RE: KSU Women's Golf 2017-2018 - thanksjim - 05-08-2018 08:24 AM Nice to see one of the Nielsen daughters in the scoring this year in the Regionals. By my memory that didn't happen once in the Regionals or Finals last year. Looks to be more depth this year. |
