The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 07:55 PM RICE up 10-0 over UTEP so far. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:02 PM RICE tried a quick snap on 4th and 1 from inside the 5 but fumbled. UTEP recovers. Big play to prevent a 17-0 hole. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - loki_the_bubba - 09-09-2017 08:05 PM I care RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:16 PM 10-0 at the half. Apparently it wasn't Oklahoma shutting down our offense we plainly suck at moving the football. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - shyminer - 09-09-2017 08:25 PM Glad the defense did enough. The offense has ZERO weapons... Nobody wants to be a playmaker, dropped passes, and ever since Kugler chewed out Dawn, his run has been ineffective. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:33 PM We get the ball to start the half. We need some points. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:42 PM UTEP guard Greg Long with a serious injury. He made the freshman all conference team last season. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:46 PM And UTEP starts the second half with a 3 and out. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - STexMiner - 09-09-2017 08:51 PM I'm not sure that we've attempted a pass longer than 10 yards all year. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 08:52 PM TD RICE RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 09:11 PM UTEP with a long td pass from a 4 and 1. Rice expected a run faked for a wide open receiver. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - JCMiner - 09-09-2017 09:42 PM UTEP is heading towards a winless season. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - ExcitedOwl18 - 09-09-2017 10:18 PM Rice wins 31-14. Bayou Bucket next weekend! RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - MinerInWisconsin - 09-10-2017 07:35 AM Congrats to Rice for overcoming recent events and adversity and dominating this game on the road. Good job. UTEP is possibly heading for an 0-12 season but I hope Rice gets to a bowl this year. Tough schedule though. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - monarx - 09-10-2017 10:15 AM Is Rice going to be good this year? Stay tuned, but it seems like they have a chance. Stay tuned, but it seems like they have a chance. I think Rice has the potential to do better than last year - I was surprised at the ease of the win last night, frankly. But I don't see Rice being bowl eligible unless we can find a way to beat Army and then beat at least three or four teams from the remaining CUSA West slate. RE: The Game No One Cares About Thread - ExcitedOwl18 - 09-10-2017 12:09 PM This is the way I see the remaining Rice schedule right now: UH L (I think it'll be competitive for the first half at least) FIU W Pitt L Army W (They didn't look great yesterday and it's a home game) UTSA L LA Tech L UAB W USM W ODU L UNT W That'd put us at six wins. I feel pretty confident that we'll win 4, which would be a one win improvement. The last two are a little more tenuous. However, I am asking what it is that leads you to confidently believe that you will beat Southern Miss this year. After all, we beat you pretty convincingly last year. What is it that you have seen this year that indicates an Owl win. Again, I am not denying your chances, I am simply asking for an assessment. This is mainly due to the fact that ya'll just don't have the QB and deep threats that you did last year (and especially in 2015). We tend to play our worst against pass-heavy rather than run-heavy teams, and USM appears from the statistics to run the ball more than throw it. Your defense does look pretty stout, but we if we execute like we did yesterday, our offense has enough misdirection and trickiness to keep a defense on its toes. And its also a home game late in the season. Our RS Freshman QB should be pretty seasoned by then. That said, I think it'll be a tough game and certainly am not overlooking USM. Our redshirt Jr. quarterback (not the redshirt fr. that started against Kentucky) should have developed a groove by that point in the season as well. We still have the same receiver threats that we did last year, and by that point, we should be able to get it to them. Here's to a good game! |
