UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 09-09-2017 07:57 AM Season opened yesterday (Sept. 8th) at BG but I can't find any results on the UT website. Here's a link to the schedule - http://www.utrockets.com/schedule.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 09-10-2017 05:41 AM Recap of UT's weekend at the BG Invitational - http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/9/9/womens-tennis-toledo-concludes-weekend-at-bgsu-invitational.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 10-07-2017 04:39 PM Recap of day 1 (Friday) at the Buffalo Invitational http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/10/6/doubles-play-highlights-day-one-at-buffalo-invite-for-womens-tennis.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 10-09-2017 05:44 AM Recap of the Buffalo Invitational - http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/10/8/womens-tennis-toledo-wraps-up-competition-at-buffalo-invitational.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 10-14-2017 01:30 PM Links to recaps of the first two days of competition at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Ann Arbor - Day 1 - http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/10/12/womens-tennis-excels-at-first-day-of-ita-midwest-regional-championships.aspx?path=wten Day 2 - http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/10/13/womens-tennis-wraps-up-day-2-at-ita-midwest-regional-championships.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 10-15-2017 06:10 AM Summary of final day of competition at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship - http://www.utrockets.com/news/2017/10/14/womens-tennis-rockets-wrap-up-competition-at-ita-midwest-regional-championships.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 10-30-2017 05:58 AM Recap of the Rocket Invitational. Nothing on the schedule for the squad until January. And I know English can be confusing (just read some of my posts ) but this is from the article, at least as of now: "'This did not phase our girls, who competed well from start to finish.'" I added the emphasis there. That wouldn't be faze, would it? Or was it 6-1? Headline says one thing, article another, at least as of now. http://utrockets.com/news/2018/1/19/womens-tennis-rockets-open-season-with-7-0-victory-over-chicago-state.aspx?path=wten RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - H2Oville Rocket - 01-20-2018 08:06 AM (01-20-2018 07:19 AM)cnyrocketfan Wrote: Rockets defeat Chicago State 7-0. Or was it 6-1? Headline says one thing, article another, at least as of now. And the result tabulation shows Toledo winning 8 while CSU won one. Maybe some didn’t count? Anyway you slice it UT lost #1 doubles. RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 01-20-2018 08:09 AM (01-20-2018 07:19 AM)cnyrocketfan Wrote: Rockets defeat Chicago State 7-0. Or was it 6-1? Headline says one thing, article another, at least as of now. Now it looks like both the headline and article say it was 7-0. Except, as H2Oville Rocket pointed out, Chicago State won a doubles match: "Doubles Competition 1. Mariya Kostyuk/Lesha Sheperd (CSU) def. Sidnay Huck/Kokoro Chishacki (UT), 7-6 (7-2) 2. Thalita Rodrigues/Mimi Kendall-Woseley (UT) def. Lorea Gamboa/Anastasiia Goncharova (CSU), 6-4 3. Dee Dee Leenabanchong/Colleen O'Brien (UT) def. (CSU), default" Maybe my eyes are failing me as I'm getting older but I'm really confused. RE: UT women's tennis 2017-18 - cnyrocketfan - 01-20-2018 08:17 AM I'm a little slow but I think I figured it out. It looks like 7-0 is correct. There is one point for doubles, given to the team that comes out on top in the doubles competition. UT won 2 of 3 matches in the doubles competition and earned the doubles point: "Toledo split two doubles matches with Chicago State with the Rockets gaining the doubles point due to the Cougars defaulting at No. 3 doubles. Junior Thalita Rodrigues teamed with Kendall-Woseley for UT's 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles." Rockets won all 6 singles matches, so that makes it 7-0. My reading comprehension needs work. Different than HS scoring but since there were nine matches and seven points I figured I was missing something. Thanks for the clarification.
