Our fans ***** about not getting P5 teams to Hattiesburg, then when we sign a 2-1 deal with an in-state SEC team, we still complain.

We've played MSU 29 times. Only 5 of those games were in Hattiesburg. Not like we were playing them at MMRS regularly even in our heyday.

State has also signed 2-1 deals with USA and Tech. Like it or not, these schools are our peers now. And this is different in that we're going to get paid for the first game.

I think it's great that none of these games are season openers too. Instead of a summer of smack, we get maybe a week or two. We'll have a better idea of what our team is like heading into these games. And the last game being in Hattiesburg is a plus IMO. That will probably be our best chance to get a W (just because it's at home). Rather win in 2024 and not play them for a couple years than win in 2023 and then get beat in 2024 in Starkville.

I'll wait to see what the buyout and the guarantee is, but right now I see no real negatives.
