Greenville North State Little League Team 1 Win Away from LLWS! - PurpleReigns - 08-07-2017 08:49 PM

Any other AAC areas have a local team still in the hunt?

Upper Providence LL, about 27 miles outside of Philly is still in it. Holbrook LL in Jackson, NJ, an hour-ish outside of Philly is too.

Fairfield American (CT) is 16-0 and just two wins from the LLWS.

How many 20 year olds does the team have?

Why have they played 16 games. Most NC teams only need to win around 8 at most to make it to the regional

North Carolina hasn't had a rep in the LLWS in a long time. Would be a nice surprise for new blood, especially considering last year's US Runner Ups in Goodlettsville, TN is still alive in that region.

Greenville beat them yesterday so they'd have to win 3 in a row

Nope, it seems championship games are single elimination thus an undefeated team can lose and be out. I don't think we will lose but damn is it unfair.

Each state has their own way of structuring the process since there are no unified rules until like the regionals. Also depends on how many teams there are in each state.

Obviously but 16 is still ridiculous. That's really bordering unsafe for pitchers' arm.

Is this ECU's baseball team?

Future baseball team or at least several players I'm sure. We keep quite a few home players around unlike basketball.

It's a pitching thing. Goal is to try and keep kids from arm injuries. Also, ESPN has paid Little League very good money to get that 1 time slot. They don't want to have to cover 2.

No, at most 3 or 4 of the players on that team will play high level division one baseball.

Lmao every single one of those kids will face much tougher obstacles than a man on the internet saying that less than half will play at a high level division one program. You act as if I am the gate keeper to their lives. I'd be willing to bet some of them won't want to even play division one baseball in 3 or 4 years or even now. I'm not even saying they won't play at good programs like UNCG, App, etc.
I've not even watched the team play so it's not like I'm singling players out. If it truly is their dream they will put in the necessary work, and the reality is the majority won't.
