If you go to Carolina Alehouse get their nachos - they're out of this world.

Wings are pretty legit too. They are some of the biggest, meatiest wings I have ever seen.

We plan on being at BW3 at 11 when they open for a couple of beers and to order food to bring over to the tailgate.

Thanks guys for the info for these places and around the Mall area. The Mall is approximately a 1-mile walk from the stadium so not too bad. Was thinking originally as a nice backup plan in case raining, but even if clear I might head over that way around lunch. 01-ncaabbs

Wow - it's really a mile? It doesn't seem that far.

I guess when you're buzzed it doesn't seem far, anyway. So you'll be in luck!

GREAT pizza. Great beer selection.

Don't want to detract from this sharing of information. But Mellow Mushroom's pizza is great? In all caps? I'm not sure if you're giving them extra points for producing okay food as a chain restaurant. But I think you're being really generous.

Compared to what you normally get in Eastern North Carolina...?

Aside from the occasional "mom and pop" spot where some folks moved down from NY, it sure beats the pants off the trash chains (Dominos, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc).

Michaelangelo's or Marabella Old World Pizza are your best bets for authentic NY style pizza.

If you get to Greenville early enough, you need to go to B's BBQ. It is quite simply the best BBQ North Carolina has to offer. But I mean EARLY... if you get there at your typical lunch time, they'll be closed... because they close when they run out of food.

If you miss the boat on B's, but still want excellent, Eastern NC style BBQ... try Sam Jones BBQ. You will NOT be disappointed.

Yes, in the world of chain pizza theyre pretty good. Will have to check out the local spots next time I'm down there.

Now I see your newest post, I need to get to B's tomorrow. It's a treasure and well worth the early wake-up.

Just curious...in Eastern NC, is it still standard operating procedure that chili comes on burgers? It's been 26 years since I lived in Wilson, but always loved that back in the day. I recall you had to order it special without chili if you didn't want it.

Haha... "all the way" = chili, slaw, mustard, & onions.

They won't just throw chili on there if you don't ask. 04-cheers But they should!

Yep chili on burgers/hotdogs are still a thing here in Eastern NC. For added perfection, get your burger or hot dog "all the way" with coleslaw, onions, & mustard.

Yeah, at JMU "all the way" meant something a bit more fun.

Looking at that makes me want to come down for a meal tonight.

If any JMU fans are coming down on Friday and spending the whole weekend in Greenville, Uptown Greenville puts on a big block party called Freeboot Friday each friday before an ECU home game. Live music, food, adult beverages, bouncy houses for the kids, and more. It's a good time and well attended

Also, Greenvllle's First Friday Art Walk will be going on as well.

it should be a pretty busy weekend in Greenville.

Does anyone know if you can buy a parking pass on game day at Eppes Middle School near Elm Street ?
