Wake Forest up at 55.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-11-2017 10:38 AM

Navy in at #51.
Got 4 left from the G5, 2 indy's, and 44 P5 schools- in the top 50.

RE: College Football preview - MplsBison - 07-11-2017 10:55 AM

Why is it only the top 104? Aren't there 128 FBS teams?

Looks like G5 schools left are Houston, Memphis, Boise, Wyoming? Will any crack top 25?

South Florida ...not Memphis

South Florida is also left

Memphis was #57 so already in. It'd be Houston, South Florida for the AAC for sure.

In the MWC- they have been repped so far by San Diego St, Colorado St, Air Force, New Mexico, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah St. So that's 7 teams. Left are Boise, Wyoming, San Jose St, UNLV, and Fresno St. Think it's fair to say that the last 2 are Boise and Wyoming.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-12-2017 08:14 AM

Baylor checks in at #50.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-15-2017 01:08 PM

Houston checks in at 47, so looks like they're giving the AAC to USF.

S Florida 2017 schedule:

non-conf: at San Jose St, Stony Brook (FCS), Illinois, UMass
conf home: Temple, Cincy, Houston, Tulsa
conf away: at UConn, at ECU, at Tulane, at UCF

And they play at San Jose in week 0, so they have two bye weeks (one before homecoming vs UMass, and one before last two weeks of regular season Tulsa and UCF)

Depends how other conf champs do, of course, but not sure that resume gets it the Access slot in a competitive choice ...

a lot would hinge on how good the conference is....

1 thing and this is a spoiler- they have the bowl projections as they're doing this. Well, for the American, they have an opening still for the Birmingham Bowl. Means, USF slotted there, giving the G5 slot in the CFP to the MWC champion.

Just wonder if they'll take Boise or Wyoming then.

I'm rooting for Wyoming! Go Coach Bohl!

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-18-2017 09:19 AM

Well, we got our answer today, it's Boise. Wyoming shows up at #44.

It'll be interesting to see how close they have Boise and South Florida.

RE: College Football preview - MplsBison - 07-18-2017 10:57 AM

If Bohl follows the NDSU strategy of beating Iowa in Iowa City, Week 1, then the Week 3 game vs Oregon in Laramie could break the stadium record for attendance.

Then cruise control until the showdown in Boise ...

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-19-2017 11:26 AM

Michigan St shows up at #43. They have the brutal year this year with Ohio St and Michigan both on the road(every other year like that). It'll be interesting to see what kind of bounce back season they have in '17.

RE: College Football preview - MplsBison - 07-19-2017 11:30 AM

The East is always going to be brutal when you have three elite programs (Michigan, Ohio St, Penn St) that can and will spend anything it takes to be nationally competitive, plus a program like Michigan St that can be a great program itself.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-20-2017 08:16 AM

BYU shows up today at #42.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-21-2017 08:57 AM

Georgia Tech in at #41.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-24-2017 08:30 AM

Colorado comes in at #38. It'll be interesting how they answer the bell this season after last years great season.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-26-2017 08:45 AM

Iowa shows up at #36. Schedule looking at their writeup may hurt them- have to travel to Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Northwestern.

RE: College Football preview - stever20 - 07-29-2017 08:17 AM

Notre Dame shows up at #33. Tough road schedule for them this year- Michigan St, North Carolina, Miami, and Stanford. They may have the biggest early season game in some ways with Georgia on September 9.
